This model is very nicely detailed and molded. It features internal crew stations, retracted or extended landing gear with struts compressed or extended, external bomb rack and bombs, hard or flexible wheels and decals for three aircraft.

Original Pre 'S' release from 1954. This is Revell's first aircraft carrier model and an excellent kit for that time of a straight-deck Midway class ship in the near-original (as launched) configuration. Features heavy AA battery and an airwing of F4U Corsairs, F9F Cougars, AD-6 Skyraiders and a helicopter that may be a HUP. The hardbox is in 'excellent+' condition. Color and gloss and as new and all four corners are solid; edge and corner wear and light general wear are the main flaws; the original price tag is on the short left panel. The kit is molded in the correct glossy light gray plastic. Inside, it is as it left the factory; never started and with all of the small parts still in the factory sealed bag. The larger parts were never factory sealed and have been inventoried complete including decals, flag sheet and instructions.
