This is the first issue of this classic kit. Dated 1970. Perhaps the highest quality kit available of the Apollo 11 moon landing scene. Rare kit includes LEM, moon base, solar wind detector, seismometer, flag, astronauts, laser reflector, stereo camera and TV Camera. As this is the first issue, it contains some items not included in later issues. It has a gray molded base with factory airbrush painted black shadows, yellow tinted windows, gold foil and a color booklet detailing the "First Lunar Landing". The booklet is an excellent detailing guide for the kit as there are many color photos of the LEM and equipment. The kit has not been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals, instructions, yellow windows, special base, booklet and gold foil.

1970s issue for rubber or 1/4 to 1/2A gas power. Could be made RC with today's small and light servos and receivers. Kit features traditional wood/tissue construction, detailed full size plans, building instructions, hardware, wheels and canopy material, rubber, insignia, tissue and propeller. The kit has not been started and has been inventoried complete with all parts and plans. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.

Very rare multi-media 'plastic and pre-carved wood' kit. Before there were injection molded plastic kits, model builders worked in wood or metal. Advanced companies, like Monogram, saw the advantage of plastic and began marketing kits with plastic details and fully-carved fuselage, wings, etc. This beautiful kit is one the highest quality composite static kits from the early to mid 1950s. Includes finished wings with airfoil, completely carved fuselage, colored die-cut wooden parts, plastic canopy, pilot, wheel, prop, cowling, scoops, exhaust and more. The model has not been started. The parts are either in factory sealed bag(s) or inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Investment-grade condition. This issue is dated 1958 but has the 100 cent price extension, so it likely dated from the early 1960s. The original owner carefully left the original seal on the box top when he opened the kit, so the box is still mint. Molded in bright yellow and clear with a clear triangle 'World' stand. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Decals and instructions are 'excellent'.

Very rare. The rectangular 'The Aurora Line' full color logo dates this kit to 1954/1955. Of the early Aurora vehicles, this kit is 'holy grail'. It was reissued in 1957/59 as a military truck and shovel, but was never issued again in civil decoration. The box is in exceptional 'excellent++' condition with as new color and gloss, four solid corners and no tape or stickers or tape/sticker marks. Light wear as shown. Inside, the kit is as it left the factory. All parts are still sealed in the factory 'crinkle' bags. Molded in orange (shovel), dark blue (truck) and bright yellow (trailer) and with black rubber tires. Includes decals and instructions in 'exc+' condition.
