Very finely molded and highly detailed waterline model. This model includes the 8" gun turrets. It also includes US Navy WWII aircraft with their own decals. Never started. Originally designed and laid down as a battle cruiser, the Lexington was converted to the 2nd aircraft carrier in the US Navy. Her battlecruiser speed was legendary and the four twin 8 inch turrets made her 'The Largest Heavy Cruiser Afloat.' After absorbing a great deal of battle damage in the Coral Sea in 1942, the Lady Lex had to be abandoned due to internal avgas explosions after the battle. The fully enclosed hanger deck, which was unique at the time, may have contributed to the fume build up.

Century Wings were made in Japam and they are among the finest factory-built and painted 1/72 die-cast model aircraft ever available; their famous F-14 Tomcat series is no exception. The box is intact and in 'good++' condition with light, even shelf wear as the only significant flaw.
