Still factory sealed. Rare 1984 issue that comes with USNOO decals for Project Magnet as well as ASW Patrol Squadron VP-64. After the failure of the civil Lockheed Electra, Revell had to remove the molds from the market. Lockheed solved the problems with the Electra, but it was too late for the air lines. However, relief came to Lockheed in the form of numerous US Navy and international orders for a military Electra variant, the superb P-3 Anti-Submarine aircraft. And so relief came to Revell in the same way. They heavily modified the Electra molds to make the P-3 and this was a best seller for decades; and the P-3 was probably the most successful and long-lived of all US Navy ASW airborne platforms. Please see the article (located on this website) about Revell's mold modification.

1960s 3rd style logo issue of this famous kit. The Great Western was the first ship specifically built for the Atlantic Ferry Service and was designed by I.K. Brunel (who designed the Great Eastern). When launched in 1837, she carried 120 first class, 20 second class, and beds could be set up for an additional 100 if needed. The crew was 60 men. The first crossing of the Atlantic Ocean was in April of 1838 and took just over 15 days. After crossing the Atlantic 64 times, she ran for 10 years between Southampton and the West Indies before being broken up in 1857. The kit is the large scale Airfix Japan issue; it is well detailed and features full hull, complete deck fittings, ships boats, preformed rat lines (realistic and scale Revell type), detailed paddle wheels, billowing sails, color flag sheet and much more. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The famous Queen Elizabeth was the largest liner in the world when launched in 1938. She saw extensive service during WWII as a troop transport. After the war, she and the original Queen Mary formed the backbone of Cunard Atlantic Service in unparalleled luxury. Some customers favored the Queen Elizabeth for her modern lines and more modern interior fittings. Here service life was suppose to end as a static display on the opposite US shore as the Queen Mary, but buyers never materialized. While serving as a 'College Ship' she burned in Hong Kong Harbor where she was scrapped, but only after appearing in a James Bond film as a MI-6 hide-out.
