This large 1/16 scale kit is from the late 1970s/early 80s and is highly detailed. It includes provisions for rubber or U Control flight or could be converted to R/C. Features movable ailerons, elevator and rudder. The main structure is wood (stick and tissue) while many plastic details are included such as pilot, cowl, scale engine and propeller, wheel fairings, wheels and more. Includes well cardstock detailed cockpit, die cut balsa, full size plans and a large sheet of decals. The kit has never been started. Smaller parts are still in the factory sealed bag; all other parts have been inventoried complete with plans and instructions.

1965 Pyro issue from original molds. In the early to mid 1960s the Pyro company chose many of it's kit subjects based more on historical significance than popularity. Luckily for us, Pyro not only made these kits but did an excellent job for the time. The Pyro car models are based on the actual cars that Pyro engineers and designers had access to. Very rare and 100% correct first issue from 1954 with the proper swastika box art and swastika decals. This one is even rarer as it is never started and complete. The model is molded in the correct gloss black and clear, with the rectangle-based clear stand, matching instructions, decals and even the original factory packing tissue paper. The decals are flat and in stunning 'excellent++' condition with the only flaw being slight age yellowing to the backing paper only. The instructions are 'near mint.' The box has very good color and gloss, four solid original corners (no repairs), no price tags or tag marks, no tape or tape marks (other than the thin factory sealing tape of course), no fading, stains or missing litho. Flaws include general wear & scuffing as shown and light corner wear. This kit has a fascinating history. The FW-190 was among the first (or was the first) kit made at the new West Hempstead factory in 1954. It immediately followed the famous "Brooklyn 8" (Aurora's first 8 aircraft kits). It was Aurora's first WWII aircraft kit to be originally issues with landing gear and bombs but still retains the small clear rectangle stand which was also shown on the instructions. This first issue shows the swastika on the box art and decals; however, Aurora quickly realized that they could not sell the kit in Europe. So they used an ink stamp to black out the offensive mark on the box top and initially cut it out of the decal sheet; however, they were quick to make a completely new decal sheet with the 'iron cross' replacing the swastika. These alterations are often called the 'second issue' although it carried the same part number and everything else was the same.

Rare kit from 1953. The Simplex line was designed for those who desired flying models with true scale appearance but wanted to get into the air faster. They were not 'simple' as the name implies, but they were much easier than the highly realistic, true scale and complex 1/16 scale Cleveland offerings. This kit features shaped and cut out wood parts, many sheets of quality die-cut printwood, fully finished wheels, fully formed wire main and nose landing gear struts, clear plastic bombadier's nose and pilot's canopy still in 'mint' condition and perfectly clear (not yellowed), wood stock, factory cut stringers and spars as required, covering tissue and more. Includes a large sheet of full color decals (in amazing 'near mint' condition) and Cleveland's famous full size building plans. Never started. The small parts and hardware are still in the factory sealed wax bag; all other parts are inventoried complete with decals and plans/instructions.
