Second issue 'Famous Fighters' hardbox is dated 1957 with great Jo Kotula artwork. This is part of a popular and very successful series of 1/48 scale WWI aircraft that Aurora started in 1956 and added to well into the 1960s. This is one of Aurora's very popular and successful 1/48 World War 1 aircraft series. It is molded in the correct gloss dark green and black plastic. Aurora of Canada issue from about 1969-1972. One of the classic and very popular knight kit from the original molds. Large 1/8 scale kit is molded gloss black and has the original white plume. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Please note that the box is only graded 'fair-' because of heavy wear and cardboard loss o the lower right corner as shown. In the mid 1950s, Aurora bought three 'Knight' molds from Crown Plastics and issued them as K1, K2 and K3. These were the very first Aurora figure kits and they sported the 1956-only rectangular 'Northern Lights' logo with the correct 'Crown Line' logo inside it. The sales success of the Knight prompted Aurora to launch an entire line of figure kits. The knights themselves stayed in production long after many other figures were discontinued.

1960s kit from quality Frog molds and with Jo Kotula box art. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. Jo Kotula was a very famous artist who did 1930s covers for the magazine 'Model Airplane News', Aurora box art of the late 1950s and so much more. Air Lines kits are all Frog molds that the Lines Brothers imported to the USA between 1964-1966. The kits, decals and instructions were made in England, then imported to the USA where Testors created the boxes with the colorful trading cards on the back. There are one or two trading cards on each box which show the boxart but not the advertising/logo. Some kits contain a Testors color painting guide also, but it is not specific to any model.
