1960s Pyro issue from original molds. The model includes beautiful green injection molded parts including wire wheels (not solid wheels), clear parts, detailed chassis and complete interior. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. NOTE: this kit has minor, neat assembly. The body and wheel halves have been assembled; quality of assembly is 'professional.' There is some minor but very neat painting to smaller parts as well. In the early to mid 1960s the Pyro company chose many of it's kit subjects based more on historical significance than popularity. Luckily for us, Pyro not only made these kits but did an excellent job for the time. The Pyro car models are based on the actual cars that Pyro engineers and designers had access to. Very colorful boxart by A.V. Rudisill. Very large and highly detailed kit has over 360 parts and measures 22 inches long. Molded in white and tan plastic. All details of the real ship, including the railings and carvings are duplicated. The kit has never been started. The parts that were factory sealed (about 95%) are still in the sealed bags. The parts that were not factory sealed (large hull and deck parts, paddle wheels) have been inventoried complete including flag sheet, rigging material and instructions. Please NOTE that the box is graded 'fair+' because the left short side of the box top is tore off along the box fold and corners. It is included inside the box.

Second hardbox issue from Pyro, likely from the early to mid 1960s. Nice full hull kit for that time. Designed from the original blueprints furnished by the American President Lines. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. The kit can represent the Ocean Liners SS President Wilson or SS President Cleveland. These fine ships sailed to exotic Pacific ports and did at least one Round-The-World Cruise each year. At the time the kit was made, they were the only two ocean liners flying the American flag.

Pyro USS Chicago CA136 Heavy Cruiser, 147-129

Very rare. Pyro's first ship kits were the BB Missouri, CA Chicago, CV Shangri-La and DD Sumner in the early 1950s. The one-piece box is complete but has wear as shown and a closed tear on one long side. It is molded in dark gray and black plastic. The scale is not listed, but the built model is about 12 inches long. NOTE: the main turrets have been snapped (not glued) in to the deck. There is no other assembly. NOTE: missing display stand. Otherwise inventoried with all other parts and instructions. Please note that the three larger ships all came in the same box. Pyro placed the kit contents on the side of the box.

Pyro Gulf Star Tuna Clipper, 1/58, B374-400

Mid 1960s hardbox issue. Modeled from the two Tuna Clippers (sister ship is Sea Magic) of the Avondale Marine Ways Company of New Orleans. These hard-working boats and crews roamed the ocean year-around in a dangerous business. Many vanished without a trace. The Gulf Star was wreaked on a reef off Peru. Model has a hull length of 13.5 inches. Very nicely detailed kit for that time. Even includes rigging material and rigging instructions. NOTE: kit has minor and neat assembly; hull halves are assembled. Quality of assembly is 'professional' (no gaps, no glue on the outside portion and great alignment). There is no other assembly and zero painting. Many parts are still in the factory sealed bags; the parts not sealed have been inventoried complete. Includes instructions.

Includes full hull, molded wood plank and wood grain detail, many separately molded deck details including cannon, masts, billow sails and display stand. The kit has never been started. 1966 issue Full hull kit with very good molded detail, pre-molded ratlines, detailed deck, billowing sails and display stand. Measures about 8 inches inches long when assembled. Molded in dark wood and off-white. A box art serves as a rigging diagram. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. This is one of the 'intermediate' line of Pyro ship kits, which in 1967 Pyro called '$1.25 Models'. All were roughly the same size and were a significant increase in detail from the '75 Cent Models'. Kits in the $1.25 line in '67 included the Skipjack, Cutty Sark, Charles W. Morgan, HMS Bounty, HMS Ark Royal, USS Constellation, British Bomb Ketch, Chinese War Junk, Elsie - Gloucester Fisherman, Henri Grace A'Dieu, Dutch Staten Jacht, Gotta Le Jon and others. 75 Cent kits in 1967 included the Mayflower, Barbary Pirate, USS Constitution, Santa Maria, Golden Hind, Half Moon, Bon Homme Richard, Brig of War, HMS Victory, Flying Cloud, Nina, Pinta, Santa Maria, La Reale French Galley, Venetian Carrack, Roman Merchant, Spanish Galeon and others.

From the late 1950s. Very rare early original Pyro issue with large colorful box and internal blue packing inserts. Very nicely detailed kit measures 13.5 inches long when assembled. Includes crew members and rigging material. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions. Please note, this very early issue was not made with decals. The box is intact but has wear and the hole at left as shown. espatch No.9 was built by the Tampa Marine Corporation in Florida in 1945 for the fleet of tugs operated by Standard Oil of California in Sacramento Bay and the San Joaquin River.

Pyro 1936 Duesenberg SSJ - LaGrande-Bodied Roadster, 1/32, C412-100

1966 Pyro issue from original molds. In the early to mid 1960s the Pyro company chose many of it's kit subjects based more on historical significance than popularity. Luckily for us, Pyro not only made these kits but did an excellent job for the time. The Pyro car models are based on the actual cars that Pyro engineers and designers had access to, in this case Gary Cooper and Clark Gable's automobiles. This was the Duesenberg Company's last great automobile before going out of business in 1937. The Model J was a superb automobile and the fastest and finest car of it's day. Never to be outdone, the two brothers made two supercharged 'Super-Duesenbergs' from J models and are referred to by the public as SSJs. (The term SSJ was never used by the factory) The output was a whopping 400 bhp. The model includes real rubber tires, chrome plated parts, colored injection molded parts and clear parts. Features detailed chassis with suspension, complete motor, removable hood, spoked wheels and a full interior. Never started. FInventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions.
