Pyro IJN Musashi Battleship - Table Top Navy, 1/1200, C392-50

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$22

Small scale ship kit from the Table Top Navy series. Very nicely done kits for their time. Can be built full hull or waterline. Features propeller and shaft detail, separately molded turrets, stacks, many superstructure parts and more. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and instructions. Many of the Pyro kits came from Eagle (then Eaglewall) molds in England. Eaglewall went out of business around 1962 and Pyro acquired at least some of the molds. Pyro reissued some of these kits in the mid 1960s with AJ Rudisill artwork. Evidently the line was successful, as Pyro then cut some of their own molds and expanded the series significantly. The earlier issues have the full color artwork and a three digit part number. Later issues have a 'B' or 'C' in front of the three digit kit number; some have simplified box art that is a modification of the original Rudisill paintings by painting out most of the background. Pyro issued these kits into the late 1960 when Life-Like took over the molds. Some were reissued by Life-Like.

Pyro Blunderbus Pistol Pirate's Favorite Weapon, 1/1, G228-200

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM-

$69

First issue hardbox with great artwork and from the early 1960s. The original owner opened the box but carefully left the seal on the box top, so it is superb condition. The only flaw is a short crease on one long side - otherwise I would have graded it 'mint.' This is a full-size 15 inch long copy of the actual weapon. Molded in bronze/antique gold and a beautiful very dark swirl wood brown. The kit has never been started. The gold parts are still in the factory sealed bag and the brown parts have been inventoried complete with instructions. In addition to cars, ships, planes and figures, Pyro added an excellent line of well-known and not-so-well-known life-sized (1/1) scale pistol and rifle models to their line. In each case Pyro gained access to the actual weapon during the kit design, insuring a very accurate model.

Nicely detailed for that time and measures 20 inches long when built. Features 125 parts, full hull with display stand, deck fittings, rigging material and full rigging instructions. Molded in black and wood tan. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Pyro Auburn 1935 Supercharged 851 Boattail Speedster, 1/25, C331-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

$39

Likely the third issue of the only larger scale Auburn kit in injection molded plastic. The '35 Auburn weighed 4200 lbs. and was one of the few cars of that time to have hydraulic brakes. Power came from a 150hp (@4000) supercharged engine with three inch exhaust pipes that easily sped the car to over 100 mph. Ab Jenkins set a record with a stock issue 851 at Bonneville Salt Flats in July of 1935, and became the first one to pilot a stock car for over 12 hours at an average of over 100 mph. Molded in red and includes a fully positionable female driver molded in peach plastic. Features complete engine, hinging/opening hood and 'good' interior detail. Never started. Inventoried complete with all parts and instructions. This is a rather simple kit but I have seen it look excellent built up if you are willing to take the time to detail it.
