Kit features optional position landing gear and cockpit hatch, boarding ladder and pilot in the boxart pose. Molded in correct high-gloss white plastic and clear plastic. Never started. Inside the kit is as new with all the small parts still sealed in the factory 'crinkle' bag. After the war, Lindberg and Olsen had a strong hand in early United States injection molded kit development. Please see the article located on this website about early USA plastic kit manufacturers.

Aurora Martin B-26D Marauder - 'Aurora Line' Logo Famous Fighters of All Nations Issue, 1/46, 371-259

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

Sold

Mid-1950s issue of the popular kit. Please note that this kit has the 1955 Aurora Line rectangular color logo on the box and on the instructions. Molded in silver and clear. With Aurora's practice of not wasting boxes, instructions, decals or even older parts, this kit contains the newer large clear 'triangle' stand and Tatem Company decals with a triangle logo for the stand. The kit has not been started. Inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions. When Aurora moved to the West Hempstead plant, they planned a series of very large bombers. All kits released up to this time had been fairly small. Aurora's instincts were correct, and the B-26, B-25 and B-29 were a big sales success. The first issue box art was done by Jim Cox and was only used for about one year. This is the second issue box art and the more famous of the two. The issue after this one retained the same box artwork but had the 'Famous Fighters' in the oval Sunburst logo.
