Very rare and the only known kit representing the first US Scout Cruiser. This kit has a beautifully cast resin main hull with a higher detail level than what is possible with injection molds. There are numerous other resin details. Includes full instructions with parts guide and illustrated assembly steps. Never started and the parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes all paperwork. The USS Chester was the United States Navy's first scout cruiser and designated CS-1. She was launched on 26 June 1907 by Bath Iron Works in Maine and sponsored by Miss D. W. Sproul. She was named in honor of the town of Chester, Pennsylvania. She was commissioned on 25 April 1908 and saw a very long and active service. Her designation was soon changed to CL-1 for 'Light Cruiser'. In July 1928 the ships name was changed to USS York, in honor of York, Pennsylvania.
