NOTE: bagged kit; there is no box. The box is shown for reference only. Still in the factory sealed parts bag and includes decals and instructions. This model includes optional parts (different vertical & horizontal stabilizers) and decals to build any of the four prototypes. Well molded with all recess panel line detail, 'good' cockpit, pilot figure, injection molded canopy, full landing gear and more. When the Me-209 was dismissed as the 109s successor, design work began on the 309. It was intended to be a high speed, long range heavy attack fighter with an ejection seat and pressurized cockpit. Four were built, but the RLM never assigned any priority to the project. By that time, the jet-powered Me-262 showed more promise and work on the 309 was stopped.
