1/400 L750 Heller La Seine - Fleet Oil Tanker
Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: Fair-
Very rare full hull model that is highly detailed and well molded. NOTE: this model has very minor and 'excellent' quality assembly to 3 pieces; the two hull halves and rudder are assembled. Quality of assembly is excellent with no gaps, perfect alignment and the deck parts fit in perfectly. There is no other assembly. Inventoried complete with all parts including decals and instructions. Please note that the box is only graded 'fair-' because it is very rough with a great amount of wear and tear. The La Seine and her sister ship, La Saone, were ordered in 1937/38 as fast oil tankers. In 1940 the Germans took over La Seine while she was being built and renamed her Stormarn. She was scuttled in 1944 while still incomplete. The French completed the ship in 1949 and she served commercially till 1961, when she was converted into a French Navy supply ship and assigned to the Mediterranean Fleet.
