Retails for $525 to well over $600. This issue includes the very large and comprehensive fittings set. This large scale and highly detailed kit measures 37 inches long (94 cm) when assembled. Features ABS hull and other large pieces, die-cut wood and a vast number of metal parts. The kit has never been started. Inside it is exactly as it left the factory All of the small parts and fittings are still factory sealed. The large parts that were not factory sealed have been inventoried complete including plans and instructions. The Calypso was built in the USA in 1942 as a US Navy minesweeper. She was bought in 1950 by Jacques-Yves Cousteau and after extensive changes and modifications became a fully equipped ocean research vessel, complete with observation chamber in the stern, oval diving bell, Galaezzi diving chamber, inflatable boat for shallow waters, helicopter and much more underwater exploration gear.
