From Pyro molds cut just before Life-Like took over production. Pyro's intent was to issue this in the 'Vintage Brass Car' series, but the timing was disrupted by the sale of their plastic kit line to Life-Like; as a result it was never issued under the Pyro name. Well detailed with full engine and engine compartment details, complete interior, separately molded front and rear suspension/axles, spoked wheels, optional top with porthole rear windows and a four piece hood that can be built closed or correctly opened. Molded in ivory with brass plated & clear parts and rubber tires. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including instructions.

Rare. When the Gowland/Revell 'Highway Pioneers' burst upon the hobby scene in 1951, they started a hobby revolution. Plastic model kits were not new in 1951, but successful mass marketing of plastic kits was new. The sensation swept the country, and Gowland & Revell could not make the kits fast enough. The fact that the public was buying these models shocked the successful hobby establishment. One such manufacture was Hudson Miniatures. In the 1940s, Hudson had established a name in making 1/16 scale 'Old Timer' models of automobiles. These were excellent kits with wood and metal parts, but a high degree of skill was required to carve and finish the wood parts. In the late 1940s, they added some injection molded plastic parts (usually acetate wheels) to the series but never considered making a completely plastic kit. When Hudson saw what was happening with the Highway Pioneers, he began to design his own 1/32 scale line called 'Lil Old Timers', which hit the stores in 1954. An early paper fold-out catalog shows 18 models including some real gems like the 1910 International Harvester Passenger Car, 1911 Brush Delivery Truck and 1906 Columbia Electric Car just to name a few. The line was bought by Revell a short time after it's release, and Revell did reissue some (but not all) of the kits. As you would expect from Hudson, this is a nice kit with excellent moldings and detail for the time. The kit is molded in a very bright yellow plastic. Never started and inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions present. The 1914 Regal Coupe is perhaps the rarest of all cars ever built in America. It was underslung, which was rare for the time, and the body was all wood and similar to old horse-drawn carriages of colonial times. The design was sometimes called a Colonial Coupe. The large car seated only two people and could hit 40 mph with it's 25 hp engine.

Early issue from the late 1950s. This was a detailed kit for the time and builds up to a nice scale model. Features good cockpit detail, two pilots, opening rear cargo doors, separately molded control surfaces, full landing gear and more. Molded in silver and clear plastic. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. The Rotodyne first flew in 1957. The purpose was to create the first true vertical take-off airliner that could operate from an area no larger than two tennis courts with a full load. The Rotodyne flew at up to 191 MPH with a range of 450 miles and a payload of 48 passengers or 5 tons of freight. Despite the excellent performance and a larger design in the works, the RAF never placed an order and BEA never placed a firm order. The project was discontinued in 1962.

If you have any additional information to help make this listing more accurate, please let me know. This is a ship was a fascinating history. Chen Yuen (or more properly Zhenyuan) was an ironclad battleship built for the Chinese Beiyang Fleet. She was the second and final member of the Dingyuan class, which included one other vessel, Dingyuan, both of which were built in Germany in the early 1880s. Delivery of the two ironclads was delayed by the Sino-French War of 1884–1885. The ships were armed with a main battery of four 12 in (305 mm) guns in a pair of gun turrets, making them the most powerful warships in East Asian waters at the time.In the 1880s and early 1890s, the Beiyang Fleet conducted a routine of training exercises and cruises abroad, with emphasis placed on visits to Japan to intimidate the country. The latter resulted in the Nagasaki Incident in 1886 and contributed to a rise in hostility between the two countries that culminated in the First Sino-Japanese War in 1894. She saw action at the Battle of the Yalu River on 17 September, where the Japanese Combined Fleet sank much of the Beiyang Fleet, though both Zhenyuan and Dingyuan survived despite numerous hits. The survivors then retreated to Port Arthur for repairs, but after that city was threatened by the Japanese army, fled to Weihaiwei. While entering the port, Zhenyuan struck an uncharted rock and was badly damaged; she was used as a stationary artillery battery during the Battle of Weihaiwei in February 1895, but Japanese forces captured the city's fortifications, which forced the Chinese to surrender the fleet.Zhenyuan was seized as a war prize, repaired, and commissioned into the Imperial Japanese Navy as Chin Yen. She frequently toured Japan in the late 1890s and early 1900s to celebrate Japan's victory over China. Obsolescent by the time of the Russo-Japanese War, she nevertheless saw action at the Battle of the Yellow Sea in August 1904 and the Battle of Tsushima in May 1905. She also supported the invasion of Sakhalin in July 1905. After the war, Chin Yen became a training ship, serving in that role until 1911, thereafter being sold to ship breakers in 1912.

Very rare. In 1977 Bandai briefly issued four 'demonstration kits' to test the market. They were this Mercedes Benz L3000S, German Goliath Demolition Vehicle, Mercedes Benz L3000A House Truck and NSU Kettenrad Motorcycle. Features detailed motor, removable hood, detailed chassis with separately molded exhaust, two bar, front and rear suspension and driveline, excellent cab interior detail, two styles of troop seating configuration for the bed, optional 'soft' top for the bed and more. After this very brief availability, Bandai never reissued them again. Never started. This kit and the paperwork is still in the factory sealed bag. I have listed this kit under Bandai; however, there is no manufacture listed on anything that I can see in the bag. At one point Academy obtained many Bandai molds and reissued several of the famous 1/48 Pin Point armor issue, using original Bandai artwork. Although I cannot tell, this may be one of the Academy kits. I cannot tell if there are decals or not because the paperwork is sealed. If it is the Academy issue, it will not have them as they did not issue decals with this kit; however, they would put four paper license plates to cut from the instructions if you wish.

This is a Cleveland scale flying model in the agreed museum scale of 1/16. All Cleveland kits were exceptionally complete for the time and this one is no exception. Features very high quality balsa printwood and strip wood, covering material, highest quality plans, all parts required for assembly and much more. The model has not been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. The Cleveland Model and Supply Company played a pivotal role in the development of true scale models. In 1909 Bleriot's English Channel flight caused a surge in aviation and model aircraft around the globe. Several companies were ideally positioned to take advantage of the aviation craze. In the USA, Wading River Manufacturing Co. (1909), White Aeroplane (1911), Ideal Model Aeroplane (1911), Broadfield Model Aeroplanes (1919) were among these pioneers, offering everything from plans and parts to complete kits and ARF models. Lindbergh's 1927 crossing of the Atlantic Ocean caused an even bigger world-wide phenomenon called 'The Aviation Craze' that extended up to the start of World War II. Many companies such as Megow, Guillow's and others started right around the time of Lindbergh's flight. Some of these models flew and flew well, but they all had one thing in common - were generally not accurate scale representations. In 1929, a youngster named Ed Packard had a very advanced dream to produce incredibly accurate, true scale models that flew perfectly. This radical idea established the world's longest operating single-owner model airplane supply business, called Cleveland Model and Supply Company. To this day, Cleveland models are treasured as the most accurate flying scale models produced. The fact that Mr. Packard started and successfully grew this business during The Great Depression is a testament to his ideals and business skill. I highly suggest the excellent book called 'Aviations great Recruiter, Cleveland's Ed Packard' by H.L. (Herm) Schreiner. It is an excellent history of the man, his company and the times of the Golden Age of Model Aviation.

From the original Aurora molds. The I-19 is famous for firing history's most successful torpedo spread off Guadalcanal. On September 14, 1942, I-19 was patrolling of the Solomons when the crew made visual contact with American forces. After working into position, she fired a 6 torpedo spread; three hit and sank the US Carrier CV-7 Wasp and the remaining three exploded against the BB North Carolina and the destroyer O'Brien. The destroyer sank and the North Carolina was under repair until November 16, 1942. The I-19's Glen seaplane also flew night reconnaissance on February 23, 1942 over Pearl Harbor for the planned second attack by Emily flying boats on that base. She was depth-charged and sunk by DD-446 Radford on 11.25.43, off Makin Island. This large scale kit is almost 16 inches long when assembled. It is an excellent model for that time from Aurora's improved quality and detail efforts of the late 1960s/early 1970s. Aurora knew that the older kits were outclassed and cut a new series of better molds including several ships, helos and subs. The result was higher mold quality and very good detail, such as this kit. Features full hull with excellent molded detail, deck with proper molded-in wood planking, complete propeller & rudder detail, periscope and cranes, Glen seaplane, conning tower, deck guns and more. Includes a display stand. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried and includes all plastic parts and photocopied instructions. NOTE: missing decal and the original instructions.
