Rare, first issue artwork from about 1955-56. This was a fine effort by Aurora for that time and an impressive model when assembled. Features retracting pontoons and rotating props. Includes correct early logo instructions which show the clear 'Triangle World' stand and the correct stand is included. This must be one of the first instances of the 'Triangle' stand being used as it is normally associated with oval 'Famous Fighter' logo kits. Molded in gloss silver and clear. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Please note the 'good' grade due to small white paint spots at the right and a slight crunch at the upper right corner. It is interesting to note that the early Aurora PBY issue has at least three small variations to the box top. The very first issue says '1/4 SCALE MODEL' at the top right. Clearly, this kit is not 1/48 scale and someone at Aurora corrected it. Following that, there are two known corrections: early and late. On the early version, the '1/4' was blotted out with a dark blue oval or circle and '5/32' was added after the word 'SCALE.' It was now correct, but the appearance was not completely professional. This box is the early, uncorrected version.

Very well detailed kit featuring all recessed panel lines, full cockpit, pilots, internal bulkheads, cabin floor, detailed engines and more. NOTE: this kit has minor, 'professional' quality subassembly as follows: two seats to floor; rear door to cabin, right wing halves; horizontal stabilizer halves. There is no other assembly. Inventoried 100% complete and includes decals and instructions. two parts are a different color plastic; they are from another issue of the same kit. The DC-3 is directly responsible for bringing the US airlines into the modern transportation age. She pioneered regular cross-country travel and flew over 90% of the passenger miles in 1939, virtually taking over the airline business. The speed, comfort and economy of the DC-3 was responsible for doubling air traffic only two years after it went into service.

Hard-to-find early issue Type 24 from original IMC molds. When Testors purchased these molds, they modified them, making any reissue of the 24 impossible. Features movable ailerons and rudder, full cockpit and business cabin interior, opening cabin upper and lower doors with stairs and magazine rack, removable front nose panel that shows the detailed avionics bay, removable engine covers & detailed turbojet engines, clear lenses for tip tanks lights, green and red tinted clear wing tip navigation lights and even a red tinted clear rotating beacon for the top of the fuselage. Molded in white, clear, chrome plate and real rubber tires, full decals including stripes and more. There is no assembly but NOTE: this kit has very minor painting. There is one coat of zinc chromate green on the inside of the (4) main gear doors, rear interior bulkhead and magazine rack; three cabin entry bulkheads are painted wood brown. There is no other painting. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals (in remarkable 'near mint' condition) and instructions present.

Revell really pulled out the stops on this model, which features parts to build it as a roadster or a closed cab like the box art, real hardwood pickup bed flooring, actual rolling chassis construction just like the full-size truck, detailed front and rear suspension, differential, exhaust & driveline, stock engine or custom with numerous speed equipment options, four-panel hood that opens just like the real one, complete interior, opening doors, optional roadster body with a 'soft top' in up or down position, customizing body panels, spoke wheels, opening tail gate, side mount spare and more. Molded in white, clear, chrome plate and with rubber tires and metal axles. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. Please note that Revell did not furnish decals with this kit as they are not required. NOTE: there are tire burns on the underside of the hardtop roof (repairable), oil pan (repairable) and several minor, light burns on the seat.

Very rare original issue. Molded in ivory white, clear, red-tint clear, chrome and with rubber whitewall tires. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried and the stock version is complete but NOTE: the custom version is missing one small fin and an antenna. Otherwise complete with all other parts and includes decals and instructions. Decals are in amazing 'near mint' condition. The box top displays much better than the 'very good' grade but is rated as such because there is a tape tear on the short left side and light bug damage on the right short side.
