Skywave IJN Chiyoda Aircraft Carrier - Chitose Class, 1/700, W72

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Rare kit of this ship once converted to an aircraft carrier. Very highly detailed waterline model includes separately molded AA armament, ships boats, walkways, radio masts, underside bracing for AA gun tubs and more. There is a large sheet of decals with extensive flight deck markings and even aircraft decals (although aircraft were not included with this kit). Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

MPC He-177 A-5 Grief with HS-293 Guided Missiles - (ex-Airfix), 1/72, 1200-200

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

From 1960s Airfix molds. Well detailed for that time and features opened or closed bomb bay doors with full bomb load, moving gun turrets, working rudder, elevator and ailerons, retracting landing gear, simulated spinning props (clear disks), five crew members, standard and custom decals, rotating wheels and four-bladed props and three optional Hs-293 Guided Missiles. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions. NOTE: decals are present, but they are from the Airfix issue of this same kit. The original MPC ones were peeling badly, which is typical of this kit.

Pit Road IJN Akagi With Three Flying Decks (Pre-1935), 1/700, HM-020

Resin Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc++

Sold

Still factory sealed. Rare, very high quality waterline kit of the Akagi in the three-deck configuration. Features superbly cast resin hull and deck sections, three large trees of injection molded details, numerous cast metal details and precision cast metal biplane torpedo bombers and biplane fighters. There are extensive decals for the air wing and the ship. The initial idea for Akagi was to make three decks to speed up the take-off and landing of aircraft. It worked initially, but by 1935 the lower two decks were not long enough for the heavier aircraft. At that point Akagi was reconstructed to a single deck configuration.

Aurora Boeing KC-135 Jet Stratotanker, 1/125, 143-175

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

1974 Aurora of Canada issue from ex-Comet molds. This is the largest of the two Comet molds and has clear cockpit and cabin windows, full landing gear and a 'tanker' rear end and refueling boom (although the box art does not show it). Molded in gloss silver and clear. This model was given a clear Aurora two piece 'triangle world' stand, unlike many of the other Comet kits which only had a modified version of their original stands included. Of course this is not the production KC-135 but a model of the Boeing prototype. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Revell B-24 Liberator Giant Bomber Buffalo Bill, 1/92, H218-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

Sold

Very rare third issue hardbox dated 1960 with Pre-S artwork of 'Buffalo Bill' by Richard Kishady. This issue turns up far less than the other two releases and was the last one to use the classic artwork. One long box side advertises the 1960s "Picture Plane" releases of the Il-38, HRS-1 and C-130A; the other long side has color photos of 6 of the "Whip Fly" series. Molded in the correct high-gloss medium olive drab and clear plastic. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Monogram Ground Attack Combat Diorama - FW-190 and Sherman Tank, 1/48, 6034

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

Rare model dated 1984 that contains both tank and aircraft in 1/48 with a diorama base. The injection-molded diorama base is unique to this kit; the Monogram FW-190 hails from the Four Star/Blue Box/White Box molds and the Sherman tank is from Aurora's 1/48 molds after Monogram's modifications for accuracy. From what I can tell, it is the only release that Monogram ever made of the Aurora Sherman. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

Airfix IL-2M3 Stormavik, 1/72, 12-49

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

Sold

Dramatic Craftmaster artwork of an Il-2M3 attacking train tracks and a blowing up a locomotive. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. The legendary Stormovik gave the Germans nothing but trouble on the Eastern Front. Designed as a heavily armed single seat or dual seat attack aircraft, the Stormovik was very difficult to shoot down; even then if the pilot could crash land it, he had an excellent chance of walking away and flying again the next day. Il-2M3s endlessly attacked German forward and rear positions effectively and in large numbers till the end of the war.

Sanwa Spitfire 5B Motorized, 1/50, 158

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

Sold

Very rare, larger-scale Sanwa motorized issue from the late 1950s or early 1960s. Features motorized propeller, original early electric motor, all hardware, battery holder and switch, factory glue tube, working elevators, rudder, ailerons and wing flaps, retractable landing gear and the on/off switch cleverly concealed in the back of the underwing radiator. Molded in a unique blue/gray, black and clear. The kit has never been started. The plastic parts are all still sealed in two factory bags. The hardware packet with the glue is still in a factory sealed bag as well. The motor is in the original bag but the bag is open. Decals are still factory sealed and 'very good' as are the instructions. The box is 100% complete and has great color but it graded low ('good-') due to significant general wear as shown, a side crease and closed tear on a long side and three closed splits on corners. Sanwa was one of Japan's earliest post-WWII kit producers, making model kits in the 1950s; some sources say 1955. Kits were marketed under Sanwa and Tokyo Plamo, with the general consensus being the the later logo came out around 1960 or later. Production ended in 1964, making all Sanwa kits rare and collectible. The entire line was extensive. It included very small scale tanks (some that were motorized), battleships in three scales with the larger ones motorized with dual prop drive, slot cars, civil sport boats and an electric outboard, a full line of hand gun models that actually shot plastic bullets, two fighter groups and bomber groups (probably Monogram), several different lines of scale aircraft, missile kits, scale (static) car models of early Japanese automobiles, at least 7 flying model aircraft that had electric and rubber motors, a 'Super Control Stand' P-51 that move with a joystick and had an electric propeller and sound unit, two different lighthouses and a windmill, an air cushion boat, motor cycles, a diving submarine (electric) and a working (rubber band) George Washington Class SSBN and even a garden tractor with an electric motor.
