Hardbox issue dated 1956 but since it lacks the 'S' logo, it is from 1960 or '61. Like most early Revell sailing ships, the molds were cut by true craftsman and builds to a beautiful model. it is beautifully molded in black, dark wood and wood tan and has excellent detail and mold quality. Includes pre-formed ratlines, vacuform billowing sails (in amazing 'near mint' condition), rigging thread, decals, flag sheet, full or simplified rigging instructions and much more. Never started. 1972 Japanese issue hardbox issue. Revell of Japan kit usually included special features and this one is no exception. First, it has a large and beautiful full color painting guide. Secondly, it has a very large decal sheet for 5 very colorful aircraft. The model is very nicely detailed for that time featuring full engine detail with removable cowling panels, complete cockpit, optional position landing gear and canopy, detailed gear wells, well done and realistic under-wing radiator and rotating wheels & propeller. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. As the large 'X' implies on the box top, there is no 'Profile' book or decals beyond the Revell ones described above.

Very rare; this the only 1/350 scale model ever made of this ship. Yankee Modelworks 1/350 were advertised as the World's Finest 1/350 Ship Kits, and that was no idle boast. All resin parts are cast from de-aired molds in a pressure chamber, ensuring that every detail is sharp and there are zero to few air bubbles. Careful design of the molds also nearly eliminated resin flash. The cast metal fine details are stunning and it can be built full hull or waterline. The large and extensive set of two brass photoetched frets are the equivalent of a modern 'Super Detail' PE set. This model can be built waterline or full hull. Never started.
