Lindberg Sea Witch Clipper Sailing Ship - (ex Marx), 1/96, 813

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Sold

1979 issue that uses the original Marx Sea Witch/Swordfish molds. This is a beautiful and well detailed model with over 500 parts that measures 33 inches long when assembled. The world's largest toy manufacture, Louis Marx, spared no expense in this early 1950s entry into the growing field of plastic models. The model claims to the first time that anyone could build a museum-quality large ship at home. The claim is correct since the kit pre-dates the Revell 1/96 Cutty Sark. Full hull kit features complete deck fittings, extensive standing and running rigging instructions, optional billowing sails (in 'excellent' condition'), crew members, rigging thread and metal chain. It is molded in several colors just like the original Marx issue. The kit has never been started. All the parts that Lindberg sealed from the factory are still in the factory sealed bags. The hull, stands and mast/yard tree were never factory sealed, but I have inventoried them complete. Includes flag sheet & transfers and excellent instructions.

From the 1970s and one of the better "E" model Flying Fortresses in this scale. This B-17E is no exception and is a fine kit for that time. Features fine raised panel lines and features a full crew, optional position landing gear, elevating tail guns, rotating and elevating top and belly turrets with the blocking panel for Suzy-Q, opening bomb bay doors and bomb load and more. Decals are included for two historical aircraft- Suzy-Q, a very early Pacific Theater aircraft from 1942 flown by Captain Felix Hardison USAAC (this B-17 had no ball turret) and Yankee Doodle, the ship that General Ira C. Eaker flew in as an observer during the 8th Air Forces first bombing mission against the railway marshaling yards at Sottenville, near Rouen France on August 17, 1942. This kit has very minor 'professional' quality assembly as follows: two piece turret support assembled. There is no other assembly.
