1986 issue from quality original Pyro molds. These are considered more accurate than the Lindberg models of the same subject. Both models have never been started. All parts are still in the the two internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions. These two American Civil War ships spelled the end of the wooden ship age. In March of 1862, the Merrimac put to sea to raise the Union Blockade off the James River. There she sank the Cumberland and Congress. The Monitor, the Union's only ironclad and the first turret ship, was rushed to the scene. The epic battle between the two iron-clad ships ended in a draw, with the Merrimac suffering a little more damage than the Monitor. The Merrimac was blown up to avoid capture; the Monitor sank in a gale in 1862.

Early issue with dramatic box art. This very hard-to-find issue is a full hull kit with excellent detail for that time. Features rotating gun turrets with individually elevating guns, rotating and elevating Terrier missile launchers, all tracking, radar and illuminaters, very good superstructures, separately molded secondary and anti-aircraft guns, lifeboats, propeller and rudder detail, helicopter, display stand and more. Never started. It has been inventoried and NOTE: missing one part, (1) of (2) propeller guards (goes on the side of the rear hull). otherwise complete with all other parts, decals and instructions present but NOTE: one 5" turret has one broken gun barrel and it is missing. Easily made with pulled sprue or fine wire. This is a strange kit and it's rarity may be attributed to the fact that the Cleveland-Class Cruiser USS Pasedena was never converted to a Terrier-Firing Guided Missile ship. The USS Providence was; perhaps they intended to name it after her.

Rare. This is a very well detailed kit of the experimental Bell aircraft. It features fine recessed panel lines, detailed cockpit, full landing gear, tilting engines + rotors and more. Includes very colorful and complete decals for XV-15 '702' with civil registration N702NA. Beautifully injection molded in white, clear and one tree is chrome plated. Never started. The internal factory parts bag is still factory sealed. Includes complete instructions, parts guide and decals. From the writing on the back of the instructions, it appears that this model was likely a promotional item given away by Bell. the XV-15 was one of the few highly successful tilt-rotor aircraft to be designed and extensively flown. Two prototype were built; one was lost in an accident but the other one continued to fly for NASA, Bell and other concerns; it is now in the National Air and Space museum. Lessons learned from the XV-15 were applied directly to the Osprey.

This model is from the 1960s and appears to be from Fujimi molds. The kit features retractable landing gear, wings that fold like on the actual aircraft, working ailerons & rudder, pilot figure, underwing rockets &motorized (by rubber band) propeller. Molded in dark blue and clear plastic. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. UPC stood for Universal Powermaster Corporation which was based out of New York City, NY. UPC did not cut their own molds, but bought kits already molded from other manufacturers and re-boxed the kits in the USA. Scott Eidson, the famous artist best known for his artwork with Revell, also did UPC box art in the 1960s. All UPC production ended in the 1970s.

These kits features very good quality moldings, recessed panel line, good cockpit, optional bomb load, optional parts to be built at a floatplane or land-based with landing gear. The Seahawk was the last aircraft to serve aboard US Navy Battleships and Cruisers. The SC-1 was the single-seat replacement for the venerable Kingfisher. The design was a success, but saw limited use at the end of WWII due to the late service introduction. Top speed was 315 MPH with Float, a range of 650 miles and a ceiling of 32,000 feet.
