1961 issue. Done in a big 1/16 scale, this kit and the other 'Old Timers' in the series represented a significant leap forward in quality for Aurora. The kit features full suspension, transaxle and driveline detail. It builds up a rolling chassis like the real car, and includes full exhaust and a detailed interior. Molded in gloss ivory, gloss black and with chrome plated parts and real rubber tires. The kit has never been started. Inside, it is exactly as it left the factory. The black parts are still in the factory sealed bags. The ivory, chrome and clear were never factory sealed and have been inventoried complete including the instructions. Please note that the radiator emblem is neatly broken off but present for a simple repair. Aurora was renowned for turning a profit and for keeping expenses down. In researching new kit subjects, they came upon a forgotten jewel - the Hudson Miniatures line of 1/16 scale wooden kits. Hudson had discontinued this line due to lack of sales of wooden kits. But the Hudson models were second to none in quality, research and documentation. Aurora was quick to realize this and used the research and layout from these kits to create the subjects for this 'Old Timers' series. It is fortunate for us that they did, because in most cases this is the only injection molded kit of these rare and classic early automobiles.

Rare issue with 'Famous Fighters' in the oval sunburst logo; this release only lasted only one year and is the true 1961 issue. (in 1962 the 'Famous Fighters' was dropped from the logo). The kit is molded in the correct gloss olive drab and clear plastic and contains the correct clear Aurora 'world' triangle stand. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

The Daimler company created the first practical gasoline powered automobile in 1886 when everyone else was still using steam power. The lightweight Benz gas engine was a breakthrough when married to the Daimler coach. This is a fine model from the original high-quality Bandai molds and features engine, driveline, front and rear suspension, steerable front wheels and more. Molded in green, black, dark brown, chrome plate and brass plate. Never started and the parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions. This is part of an incredible series of very large 1/16 scale automobile kits produced by Bandai which are very well detailed inside and out even by today's standards. Thankfully, Entex reissued them in the USA in the 1970s which has made them much more available. The Japan issues are rare and they were mainly available in that country, through certain west-coast mail order hobby shops and US Military PX stores.

From high quality Revell molds. This 1980s Entex issue of this large-scale, highly detailed, full-hull model kit measures over 19 inches long when assembled. Features movable elevating tower, bow monitor, hose outlets, fire hoses, rotating deck water guns, hose reels, radar, railings, crew, detailed wheel house, display stand, bollards, jackstaff, propellers and much more. Because of the large size of this model, many people have converted this kit to R/C operation but you need to furnish all parts for the power, hardware and radio gear (R/C equipment not included). This kit is well known for a long list of working details and accessories and this Entex reissue includes them all. Very highly detailed and finely molded waterline model. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Mikasa was the only ship of her class and took part in the Russo-Japanese war. In the late 1890s the Japanese shipyards were not quite yet ready for such a project, so the Navy contracted with Vickers in Great Britain to build this ship, which is actually a highly modified Formidable class. Mikasa saw a great amount of action at Port Arthur and the Battle of the Yellow Sea. She was preserved as a museum ship in 1923. Mikasa suffered from neglect during and after WWII, but was restored to her former glory in the 1950s after a campaign led by the Japan Times and Admiral Chester Nimitz. The Mikasa is the only surviving pre-dreadnought in the world.
