Very rare and especially so in this condition. This wooden model ship is dated 1950 and measures 18 inches long when assembled. It is certainly one of Ideal's most detailed efforts and features a beautiful pre-carved balsa wood hull, quality printwood parts, wood stock as required, one large factory-sealed bag of cast metal fittings and another smaller factory-sealed bag of more metal fittings, sail cloth, printed cardstock superstructure sides, a full color flag sheet as well as highly detailed three-view plans with hull cross sections, numerous superb detail drawings, very good instructions with additional building illustrations, full rigging diagram and sail details. The model has never been started. Most small parts are still in the factory sealed bags; the parts that were never sealed have been inventoried complete. Includes all paperwork.

1995 Reissue from the same molds as the popular 'Four Star' kit. Features retracting landing gear, rotating wheels & propellers, three man crew, optional position crew door and two survivors in a life raft. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Decals and instructions are in remarkable 'near mint' condition. The Albatross was the primary sea rescue aircraft of the Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Service, a branch of MAC - Military Airlift Command. Operational service began in 1947 and Hu-16s saw wartime action in Vietnam.

Excellent model from 2000 that builds the skeletal inner structure of a Nieuport 28. Features over 190 laser cut hardwood (basswood, birch and plywood) parts, over 200 Britannia metal, copper, aluminum, steel, brass and rubber parts and over 50 Britannia metal castings for the Gnome-Rhone Type 9N rotary engine complete with all cylinders, distributor, spark plugs and crankcase. Details other than the engine (which is a kit to itself) include turnbuckles, guy wires, compression bar, pulleys, wire support brackets, struts, flight instruments, tires and much more. Includes three sheets of full size plans and very detailed instructions. Completed wingspan is 20 inches. Never started. 1980s issue of this classic model. Features traditional stick and tissue construction, die-cut balsa printwood sheets, factory-cut stringers and spars, fully formed wire landing gear struts, rubber motor, metal propeller shaft/rubber hook, clear material, fully formed wheel, thrust button & propeller, tissue and full size plans. The model has not been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.
