Aurora M-46 General Patton Tank, 1/48, 301-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Sold

Second issue of this classic kit. Although dated 1956, this kit is from 1957 and carries the then-new oval sunburst with 'Famous Fighters' in the border. In keeping with a quick and inexpensive change over, the box utilizes the 1956 artwork, but yellows out the 'Northern Lights' rectangle and adds the new oval. Beautiful box with brilliant colors. The box would grade 'Near Mint', but is only graded 'Excellent' because there is a closed tear (no missing litho) on one the lower long side. The kit has never been started. Revell V-2 With Trailer And Launcher - History Makers Issue, 1/69, 0560

Still factory sealed. 1994 re-release of the 1982 release- which itself is from the very popular 1960s original molds. Has many operational features including the V-2 missile with removable panel with full interior including fuel tanks, rocket engine and more, working launcher and transport trailer/erector and crew members. Please note that Revell lists this kit as 1/54 but I have noted it as 1/69 because the built missile measures 8" tall and the actual missile is 45.9 feet tall. That comes out to be 1/69.

From aviastar.org: In development at the same time as the Keystone XB-1, the Curtiss XB-2 was quite similar but proved to be the superior aircraft. Like the Keystone design, the XB-2 also mounted dual Lewis guns in turrets located in the rear of the engine nacelles.A crew of five was carried by this bomber with a performance rating that placed it far above any planes in its class. Testing of the XB-2 began in September, 1927, and though the qualities were superior to competing types, the higher cost of the B-2 resulted in a limited production order of only 12 planes in June, 1928. The first B-2 was delivered in May, 1929.In view of the excellent performance of the Condor, it is interesting to note the biplane tail assembly used. Production B-2's were the first aircraft of the type to incorporate tail wheels instead of the skid which assisted in braking, but was also responsible for structural failures.

Aurora Aero Commander1121 Jet Commander, 1/72, 85-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

Sold

1968 issue hardbox. The legend is true; these molds were lost and/or destroyed in a train wreck. Monogram bought Aurora's molds and was transporting them to the Monogram factory when the accident happened. This model features recessed panel lines, full interior with rear bulkhead, couch, chairs and console, cockpit with chairs, instrument panel, control yokes, forward bulkhead and clear windows. Includes optional position landing gear and colorful decals. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. The Jet Commander was the jet-powered follow-on to the famous Aero Commander twin private aircraft. But shortly after 1121 delivery began in 1965, Rockwell bought Aero Commander. The 1121 was competition for the Rockwell Sabreliner business jet in the same class, so Rockwell sold the Jet Commander to IAI. Famous nicknames assigned to the early 1121s included the familiar 'ground pounder', 'lead sled' and more unique 'Jet Commode'. Initial releases under IAI were called the 1123. Improvements to the 1123 design lead to the IAI 1124 Westwind powered by Garrett 731 fan engines. I won't recount here all of the nicknames for the IAI Jet Commanders...but the most printable include "Bagel Bomber" and "Yom Kippur Clipper."
