Very nicely detailed large 1/6 scale model. Features nine cylinders, crankcase, carburetor with sliding valve, accessory drive gears, oil pump, magneto, full wiring and display stand as shown on the box top photo. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed bags including instructions. The 80 hp Le Rhone was developed before WWI and was used in many early aircraft. It did see service early in the Great War and it's follow on, the 110 hp Le Rhone was used in larger aircraft. The crankshaft of the Le Rhone mounted directly to the firewall and was part of the air and fuel intake system. The crankcase, propeller shaft and cylinders all revolved at about 1200 rpm. These three assemblies were carefully balanced to reduce vibration.

Very rare, high-quality kit. Esoteric vacuforms have higher quality moldings than many injection molded kits; this model is no exception. Features superior surface detail, good cockpit, beautifully cast metal details and full color decals. Never started. All small parts still sealed in factory bags; the large parts have been inventoried complete. Complete with instructions and decals. The US Navy used to offer designs of one firm to other manufacturers to build, the theory being that this helped the young aircraft industry. PD-1 was the name given to the 25 Douglas built airplanes based on the Curtiss PN-12 design. PN-12 was the logical progression of the PN-5, which was the increased wingspan version of the WWI F2A. Other companies that built the PN-12 with minor changes were Martin (PM-1, PM-2), Keystone (PK-1) and the Hall PH-1. All of these types served from the early 1930s until replaced by the more modern Consolidated P2Ys and ultimately the PBY.

From 1953. The Irwin Company ("One Of The World's Largest Toy Manufacturers") decided to sell one of their toys as an unassembled kit in 1953. They may have been prompted by the success of the Gowland & Gowland Highway Pioneers, or perhaps they were simply had forward-looking leadership. This large scale model is made from color and factory painted plastic and can be assembled with regular wheels for a more 'scale' appearance or with the factory-built 'gyro friction motor' which turns the main rotor while taxing the helicopter along the ground. Features large fuselage that is 15" and molded in dark navy blue with factory painted silver sections, painted pilot figure, clear nose bubble, 17" rotor blade, (1) yello stretcher, 'scale' rubber wheels with metal axle, gyro-friction motor unit with all linkage and rubber wheels, yellow boarding ladder, the small plastic and metal hardware parts in the original box and decals. The text and illustrated instructions are present. Never started. Inventoried and NOTE: missing (1) of (2) stretchers and the tail rotor. Otherwise includes all other parts and paperwork.

This is one of Renewal's famous Aeroskin kits, and a rarer large 1/48 release that features markings for the aircraft of the famous Lanoe Hawker and very realistic artwork of the last moments of Lanoe's final battle with the Red Barron. The model has an injection molded inner structure of ribs and stringers like a real aircraft, then the modeler covers it with provided authentic pre-colored Aeroskin fabric. There is no painting needed as elaborate finishes are printed directly on the Aeroskin covering. This results a very realistic and colorful model. The kit has never been started. Still factory sealed and a rare kit of a rarer subject. The model is very finely molded in high definition resin and clear plastic for the canopy. Includes full decals and instructions. The Mizuno Shinryu was a late-World War II Japanese rocket-powered suicide interceptor concept. The project never proceeded beyond the initial phase of development. In configuration, it was to be a canard-winged design, with swept wings and tail fin. Two rocket engines were to be mounted in the rear, and the nose was to be fitted with an explosive warhead. Some versions of the design appear to have been intended to carry unguided rockets under the wings for interception of enemy bombers, similar to the intended role of the German Bachem Ba 349. It is unclear today whether the engines were intended to provide power for take-off (like the Bachem Ba 349), or to accelerate the aircraft towards its target (like the Ohka). Similar to the Ohka, it could have been launched from coastal air bases and caves, and modified Mitsubishi G4M Betty or Yokosuka P1Y bombers. Its intended role, whether anti-ship, anti-aircraft, or anti-tank is still unclear. There were two reported variants - Type 1 suicide rocket glider and Type 2 rocket interceptor.

Fourth issue of the famous 1/48 F-90 Long Range Fighter with the early and colorful 'Aurora Line' rectangular logo. Although not dated, the logo tells us this kit is from 1954/1955. Molded in gloss silver and clear, with landing gear and missiles and the modified rectangular 'Brooklyn' style two-piece stand. With the correct Tatem decals and instructions which are both in exceptional near mint condition. Even the original tissue paper is present. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. When Aurora issued it's first two plastic kits, they were copies of the Hawk Model Company's F9F and F-90 fighters. The first Aurora issue was in the rather plain and very rare flip-top one-piece box with the kit molded in gray with no landing gear and missiles from the Brooklyn factory. The second issue was also from Brooklyn and molded in gray with no landing gear or missiles but was in the new two-piece hardbox. The third official issue is the West Hempstead issue and is molded in silver with landing gear and missiles ('Brooklyn Gray' issues of this kit are confirmed to exist). This kit is the fourth issue.
