Aurora British SE-5 Scout, 1/48, 103-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

Sold

Very rare version. Of all the Aurora SE-5, this one and the 'white' version turns up the least. The hardbox is dated 1956 but shows the original Jim Cox box art with the 1957 oval 'Famous Fighters' logo. The original rectangle 'Northern Lights' logo has been neatly blotted out with a yellow rectangle of the same size. The fact that the price is still 69 cents (as the original issue) means this issue is very early 1957 and predated the 'yellow' box art issue. Molded in gloss olive green and black. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

In 1957 it was replaced with the famous oval 'Famous Fighters' Sunburst logo. This kit was one of a very famous line of 1/48 scale WWI aircraft kits introduced by Aurora at this time. Due to the popularity, subjects were still being released into the 1960s. Molded in glossy olive green and black. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Please read the article about Jim Cox that is posted on this website.

This kit is part of a very successful WWI aircraft line in 1/48 scale that Aurora introduced this year. The line sold so well that kits were added to it into the 1960s. Molded in the glossy olive drab green and black. This kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.
