Rare 1960 hardbox 'Famous Artist' issue and not the more common 'Famous Aircraft' issue. The fantastic box art was painted by Al White and it titled 'Hurricane Hunter.' The model features captain figure, optional position rear fuselage door, rotating propellers and wheels, full landing gear, upper and lower radome and decals for the US Navy VW-13 aircraft with "Quick Step" nose art. Molded in gloss dark blue like the box top illustration. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Includes Master Modeler trading stamp for this kit and large format full color trading cards for this model and USS Essex.

Very highly detailed resin model with excellent airframe and clear parts, detailed cockpit and more. Includes decals for civil Pan Am and military versions. Never started. The parts are still in the internally sealed factory bags. Includes decals and instructions. In early 1930s, Pan Am requested for a flying boat with capability that could fly across the ocean. Martin's bid of Model-130 was successful. In 1934, three M-130 were built as Martin Ocean Transports, but to the public thay were all referred as the China Clipper. On November 1935, the China Clipper flew the first trans-Pacific airmail route. Their range and capacity made them prime candidates to fulfill the over ocean hauling needs of the military during World War II. Beginning in 1942, the two remaining planes were pressed into transport roles for the United States Navy, but not given a Naval designation and was maintained their "civilian" status so that they could continue to fly into neutral ports with secret missions for Allied spies and technicians. The most special mission was to fly shipments out of Africa with the uranium needed for the highly top secret Atomic bomb development, the "Manhattan Project". The Philippine Clipper crashed in San Francisco in 1943, and the final China Clipper broke up and sank in Trinidad Tobago in 1945.

From 1992 and from new molds. A well detailed model of the famous Condor in its original role as a civil transport. Features detailed cockpit, clear side windows, detailed gear wells, optional position landing gear and more. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The highlight of this kit is the large and colorful decals for the two civilian airliners. NOTE: the decals have severe age micro-cracking. Please be prepared to restore/reproduce them or supply your own decals. This exact aircraft that is modeled had a very interesting history. In July of 1939, the Brazilian Airline 'Syndicato Condor Limitada' took delivery of this aircraft and it flew on the Rio de Janeiro-Bunenos Aires and Rio-Porto Algre runs. The Condor gave excellent service until 1947 when the lack of spares and damage from a ground accident finally forced their retirement. The BOAC ship was originally operated by Denmark and was confiscated by England at the outbreak of war.
