First release 1953 hardbox pre 'S' kit and the first ship model that Revell cut their own molds for. Earlier Revell ship releases were ex-Gowland and Gowland molds for the small scale sailing ship series. It has been said that this kit was so popular for so long that it was Revell's best selling ship model of all time. Inside, the kit is molded in the correct medium gray. It has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including all parts, the original small parts 'krinkle' bag (torn open), flag sheet and instructions. The early style flag sheet is in 'excellent' condition and the instructions are the correct very large format for this issue and in 'excellent+' condition with the typical age yellowing as the only significant flaw. Please note that Revell did not furnish decals with this issue.

Very rare in this condition. This 1962 hardbox issue is in amazing, investment-grade 'Near Mint' condition and with dramatic John Steele artwork. The model has markings to build either ship and features a one-piece full hull, propeller & rudder detail, detailed island structure, AA guns, gun directors, cranes and much more. Includes an air wing of Cutlass F7U, FJ Furys, F11F Tigers & helicopters and decals for the ship and also the flight deck. Molded in dark gray with a light gray air wing. The model has never been started. All parts have been inventoried 100% complete, including decals and instructions. Please note that the box top actually display better than 'near mint' but is graded as such because there are several very light marks from old tape on the two long sides (no tears and no tape, but light yellow marks from where the tap was)

Rare kit with the box in 'Near Mint' condition and fantastic Jo Kotula artwork. It has brilliant color and gloss, four perfect corners, no tags or tag marks, no fading, no torn or missing litho and no repairs. I displays higer than 'near mint' but is graded as such because it has stains from old tape on the long sides; mainly on the top panel. This issue is dated 1960 but is probably from about 1964 since there is no 'Famous Fighters' in the oval logo. This kit was the first (and still one of the few) injection molded kits of the legendary CV-6, the US Navy's Most Decorated Ship and History's Most Successful Warship. The model features full hull, large and small AA guns, detailed superstructure, pre-war 'EN' flight deck markings, aircraft and more. Includes a display stand. Inside, this kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals, color flag sheet and instructions present. The decals are perfectly flat, 100% intact and in amazing 'mint' condition; there is no yellowing. The instructions and paper flag sheet are both in 'near mint' condition with slight age yellowing as the only significant flaw.

The only flaw is the smallest amount of corner & edge wear. This is one of Aurora's later kits with improved mold quality. It features full hull, detailed flight deck, complete interior hangar deck, opening and closing hangar deck doors, 6 Sea Knight and 6 Sea King helicopters, AA guns and more. 1972 issue with fantastic box art. Well detailed kit for that time and 21 inches long when assembled. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. USS Growler was captained by Commander Howard W. Gilmore. On February 7, 1943, Growler was patrolling on the surface in the Pacific when an enemy vessel was spotted close aboard. The enemy changed course to ram, but Gilmore torpedoed her, leaving her crippled in the water. However, the ship opened fire with .60 caliber machine gun fire from close range, mortally wounding Commander Gilmore. His dying words were 'Take her down'. He remained on the bridge while the sub crash-dove to safety. For this he received the Navy Cross, Gold Star, and was recommended for a posthumous Medal of Honor.
