On April 9, 1935, this magnificent custom built automobile was delivered to Rudolph Carracciola, the Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix team driver. Rudy, with an impressive win record of 23 wins and 23 second places, had chosen this vehicle for his own personal transportation. Powered by the supercharged 5 liter engine, the large and heavy vehicle was an excellent performer and one of the finest cars of the 1930s. Well detailed kit with over 150 parts. Builds up a rolling chassis just like the real car. Features steerable wheels, removable boot, highly detailed engine and full chassis, double spare tires, detailed interior, opening hood and chrome spoked wheels. Very rare first issue with a never used red, white and black metal tube of AMT Body Filler Putty, the original sandpaper and upholstery material. The kit features parts for three versions - stock, custom or race. Includes detailed stock 283 small block engine, 409 CID 'W' head engine, engine stand, full stock interior, custom interior with bucket seats, roll bar, custom wheel and gear shift, telephone with bracket and stuff alligator, optional stock hubcaps, mag wheels or custom bladed cap, standard tires or racing slicks, chassis with separately molded rear differential, shock absorbers, traction masters, front A arms and front lower suspension unit, detailed engine compartment with opening hood and stock or custom '57 Buick grill. Furthermore, the "Minor Stylizing" section of the instructions shows more included features such as whip antenna, spotlights, fender mirrors, three piece car show trophy, custom front and rear treatments, clear tube grill with Corvette type vertical grill, scoop aerials and roof scoops, horizontal tail fins, rear roll pan, nerf bars and bubble fender skirts. The more radical 'Top Chopping' and major 'Stylizing Options A and B' display how to chop the top and use the included clear lowered 'bubble top,' a wild front end extension with Lincoln-style custom headlights, extended hood and 'pancake hood' insert, wild deck body extension with custom bullets, rear grill and tail lights and more. The kit is molded in white, clear, red-tint clear, two trees of chrome parts and rubber tires. The kit has never been started. Hard to find early issue with sandpaper and a never used, colorful metal tube of AMT Body Putty. The stock version features a highly detailed, all-chrome stock Thunderbird V-8 engine, detailed engine compartment, opening hood, full interior and molded detail underside. The custom version includes an engine display stand, rear nacelles, custom back up lights, custom antenna and rear grill/pan, custom skirts, custom front, grill, bumperettes and headlight bezels, interior with extra gauges, tach, floor shifter, seat belt and telephone, custom fender mirrors and more. The radical custom version includes a wild front and lower nose extension, extreme upper and lower rear deck extensions, custom grill, nerf bars and headlight covers, rear nerfs and custom tail lights, front upper and lower scoops, custom fast-back hardtop, continental kit and more. Every few decades an automobile is produced that becomes an world-leading classic in beauty and performance. In the spring of 1934 at the Berlin Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz introduced a new series of high speed touring cars. The engine was the super charged 8 cylinder Mercedes, and the model name was 500K; 500 for the engine's 5 liter displacement and K for "Kompressor" or super charger. One of the three 500k cars was to become an immediate classic -the Singelfingen-Bodied 500K Special Sports Roadster. This model is highly detailed and features over 150 pieces, steerable wheels, removable top, operating rumble seat, removable boot, highly detailed engine and full chassis, double rear-mount spare tires, detailed interior, opening hood, chrome spoked wheels, tonneau cover and more. Molded in tan/yellow (as per the box top), black, clear, a large tree of chrome-plated parts and rubber tires. Never started. Inventoried with all parts and instructions present.

I cannot find any information about decals coming with this kit, and none are present. As this is the reissue, there is a sign on the bottom that says that the putty, sandpaper and 'upholstery ' material were not included either.
