Still factory sealed. This very rare original issue dates from late 1972/73 and can be built as one of three versions. Features detailed 350 CID 4 bbl engine, opening hood, detailed front suspension, rear differential, exhaust and drive shaft, full Grand Am Racer interior with complete roll cage, optional street rod interior with bucket seats, many other Grand Am special parts and more. Molded in white, clear, red-tinted clear, chrome plate and with rubber tires and metal axle. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes 'near mint++' condition decals and 'very good' instructions. The box is in 'very good' condition; the only significant flaws are light shelf wear as shown and in the middle of both long sides there is a stain from old tape (the tape has long since fallen off).

On April 9, 1935, this magnificent custom built automobile was delivered to Rudolph Carracciola, the Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix team driver. Rudy, with an impressive win record of 23 wins and 23 second places, had chosen this vehicle for his own personal transportation. Powered by the supercharged 5 liter engine, the large and heavy vehicle was an excellent performer and one of the finest cars of the 1930s. Well detailed kit with over 150 parts. Builds up a rolling chassis just like the real car. Features steerable wheels, removable boot, highly detailed engine and full chassis, double spare tires, detailed interior, opening hood and chrome spoked wheels. The model is molded in green, black, clear, chrome-plated parts and rubber tires. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions present.

This is an excellent kit with special upholstery material with cut-out patterns printed on the back, a colorful, never opened white, red and black metal tube of AMT Plastic Body Filler Putty, sandpaper, white wall stickers, detailed engine and compartment, opening hood, full interior, opening doors, optional supercharged engine version, detailed suspension and a very large number of custom parts. Hard to find early issue with sandpaper and a never used, colorful metal tube of AMT Body Putty. The stock version features a highly detailed, all-chrome stock Thunderbird V-8 engine, detailed engine compartment, opening hood, full interior and molded detail underside. The custom version includes an engine display stand, rear nacelles, custom back up lights, custom antenna and rear grill/pan, custom skirts, custom front, grill, bumperettes and headlight bezels, interior with extra gauges, tach, floor shifter, seat belt and telephone, custom fender mirrors and more. The radical custom version includes a wild front and lower nose extension, extreme upper and lower rear deck extensions, custom grill, nerf bars and headlight covers, rear nerfs and custom tail lights, front upper and lower scoops, custom fast-back hardtop, continental kit and more. This kit has never been started. Inventoried and NOTE: missing (2) custom side pipes & 'upholstery' material. Otherwise complete with all other parts, sandpaper, unopened metal tube of colorful white, black and red AMT body putty, 'excellent' decals and photocopied instructions. Includes the two mint condition tail lights as shown. They are molded in red-tinted clear plastic. These are from the original Jo-Han molds but are likely reproductions made in the 1990s. They came with a collection of promo bodies, windshields and chrome parts. I am 99% sure that these parts will also work on the Jo-Han model kit (and not just the promo).

Every few decades an automobile is produced that becomes an world-leading classic in beauty and performance. In the spring of 1934 at the Berlin Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz introduced a new series of high speed touring cars. The engine was the super charged 8 cylinder Mercedes, and the model name was 500K; 500 for the engine's 5 liter displacement and K for "Kompressor" or super charger. One of the three 500k cars was to become an immediate classic -the Singelfingen-Bodied 500K Special Sports Roadster. This model is highly detailed and features over 150 pieces, steerable wheels, removable top, operating rumble seat, removable boot, highly detailed engine and full chassis, double rear-mount spare tires, detailed interior, opening hood, chrome spoked wheels, tonneau cover and more. I cannot find any information about decals coming with this kit, and none are present. As this is the reissue, there is a sign on the bottom that says that the putty, sandpaper and 'upholstery ' material were not included either.
