Rare first issue hardbox from 1968. From the famous movie '2001 A Space Odyssey'. Removable cover shows nuclear engines. Never started. Very rare. Complete Saturn V, Crawler Transporter, Launch Platform and Launch Tower. Issued as a built-up desk model for the Apollo Program and as a kit. This is the rare kit version. Model is 16 inches high when assembled. No painting required as with most desk top models of the era. Molded in grey, white, orange and yellow. Includes stickers/decals for the Saturn V as well as full instructions. Completed model rolls - moveable arm swings - derrick swings 360 degrees. Never started. Hard to find first issue from 1969. Mold quality is excellent as is typical with the first issue. (Molds become worn as reissued are made and detail becomes less crisp and flash appears.) This is the finest large scale injection molded kit of the legendary workhorse. Model actually comes apart and each sequence configuration of the Apollo Mission can be demonstrated with this model: Lift Off, 2nd stage, 3rd stage, separation, docking, lunar orbit, lunar module separation, lunar descent, lunar exploration, lunar lift-off, docking, starting for earth, separation, and reentry/recovery. Very rare. Includes three high value kits in a rare gift pack. 'The Apollo' is a 1/48 scale model standing 20 inches tall. It contains the LM, CM and SM, all removable from the top of an Apollo Saturn V rocket. The Gemini Spacecraft is a 9.5 inch model of the famous capsule and has complete interior detail. The Gemini Astronaut is 12 inches long. He is fully equipped and comes with a Gemini capsule display base. Never started. Inside, all kits are still in factory sealed bags. No glue or paint.

Well detailed kit of the experimental Bell aircraft. Recessed panel lines. Molded in white, clear, and one tree is chrome plated. Bag is still factory sealed. I have listed the manufacture as 'Big One' simply because they are thought to be the origin of the 1/84 scale molds. I do not see any manufacture listed on the actual kit. From the writing on the back of the instructions, it appears as if it may have been a promotional item given away by Bell.

ITC first issue in hardbox. This unique aircraft was a joint development by the Army and Airforce as a rescue and recon plane. It took off vertically as a helicopter and flew at 200 mph. Jets drive the rotors and a piston engine drives the pusher prop. The jets for the rotors are pressure types located in the blade tip. Never started. Very rare kit. Features elevating launch platform and booster rocket for zero-length launch. Kit is 100% complete but has been started and has significant assembly. Please read carefully: Booster is unpainted and is partially built and needs two fins installed to be completed. Aircraft is built and painted silver but one canard and two horizontal stabilizers have broken off and need to be reinstalled. Launch ramp is unpainted and has been partially built; it still needs significant assembly. Launch ramp walkways have been painted black but not installed. Again, the kit is 100% complete with all parts, uncut decal sheet and instructions. Quality of assembly is very good to excellent. Paint is of fair quality. Box is excellent with minor scuffs as the only flaws. Ideal builder kit.

Very rare kit issued by Strombecker with the release of the Disney Sci-Fi Hit 'Man in Space'. The Space Station S-1 measured 200 feet across and would be in a 1000 mile high orbit. The rim houses the occupants while the core has the generators, air conditioners and other equipment. The 'wheel' would rotate three time a minute to produce artificial gravity for the occupants. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Even has original thread for rigging the spokes. Correct pale green plastic.

Fantastic artwork entitled 'Mars Flight Outbound' by Cal Smith. Rare kit from the late 1950s. Designed by Krafft Ehricke of Convair's Astronautics Division to carry men to Venus and Mars. 18 inches long when assembled. Never started. Compete except for one missing pilot. 1972 issue with fantastic box art. Well detailed kit is 21 inches long when assembled. USS Growler was captained by Commander Howard W. Gilmore. On February 7, 1943, Growler was patrolling on the surface in the Pacific when an enemy vessel was spotted close aboard. The enemy changed course to ram, but Gilmore torpedoed her, leaving her crippled in the water. However, the ship opened fire with .60 caliber machine gun fire from close range, mortally wounding Commander Gilmore. His dying words were 'Take her down'. He remained on the bridge while the sub crash-dove to safety. For this he received the Navy Cross, Gold Star, and was recommended for a posthumous Medal of Honor. Never started.
