1954 Pre 'S' hardbox in investment grade 'near mint' condition. The colors and gloss are brilliant and as new. The corners are solid with no repairs and there has never even been tape on the ends. Inside, the kit is mint. All small parts are still sealed in the factory bag. The parts that were never sealed have been inventoried complete including decals, flags and instructions. NOTE: one part, the deckhouse front, has a sliver of plastic missing on one edge that is 1/16 of an inch deep and runs from the window down. This part also has 1/16 inch of material missing from one window pane.

Very rare. When Monogram invested in the tooling for the 18 aircraft "Airpower" kit, the sales were disappointing. In order to increase revenue from the molds, Monogram issued the "Refueling Group", "Bomber Group" and "Fighter Group" in the "Forty Niner" series with the Tu-16 Badger, F-101 and P-40. These kits used airplanes from the set with new blue-molded stands and unique decal and instructions sets. All aircraft are well molded with recessed control surface outline detail. Decals are in as new condition. Never started. 100% inventoried complete with all parts/decals and instructions present.
