Very rare box art with the USA star and circle colors transposed. The star should be white and the circle blue - instead the opposite is true. Aurora caught this mistake very early and only a handful escaped the West Hempstead plant. This was to be the first issue of the P-40 with the new logo - the "Sunburst" with "Famous Fighters" in the boarder. Very large (1/72 scale) Heracles. Beautifully detailed kit of one of the classic airliners of the 1930s. Imperial Airways equipped these aircraft with deluxe interiors and provided full service. Customers were thoroughly pampered and had superb views of the ground from only a few thousand feet. This kit features detailed interior, injection molded details (props, wheels, engines, etc), extrusion molded airfoil struts, decals for all eight Imperial Airways Aircraft, decals for impressed RAF aircraft, full-sized building instructions, very large illustrations of the inside and outside of the Heracles for super-detailers and a magazine showing color paint scheme for the RAF versions. The kit has been started. The fuselage halves have been cut out and sanded professionally. The fit of the two fuselage halves is flawless and the parts are undamaged. There is no other assembly. The kit is inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Features working lights and engine - expansion and contraction struts with real rubber tires - super detailed instrument panel. Engine detail is incredible and the motor is a kit itself. Each cylinder head is 31 parts - 30 of which are metal cooling fins. The engine alone is over 150 parts not including the firewall and detail there. Mold quality is very high; firewall detail is complete as in the actual aircraft. Figures are included. Beautiful decals are included to reproduce the detailed two-tone blue striping on the box art.

The SR.177 was a further development of the SR.53. The SR177 combined rocket with turbine power. The 177 had a jet engine of significantly more power than the 53, so it could cruise without use of the rocket motor. The interceptor was to be armed with two Firestreak missiles. Although British air policy changed, the work continued due to German interest in the project. However, the program was dropped when Germany went with the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter.
