Rare 1955 release. The box has brilliant, like new color and gloss. There is very solid and there are no splits, cuts or repairs. There is a short tape tear from the factory tape on the top long side. The inner packing display cardboard insert is complete and in excellent condition. This gift set contains the USS Norton Sound, USS Nautilus and USS Boston. All kits have not been started except the Nautilus, which has the two propellers painted silver. There is no other paint and no assembly. These are all original 1955 kits - the plastic color is the correct high gloss light gray and the decals and flags are correct as well. An excellent example of a rare kit.

31 and 3/8 inch wingspan kit for RC, CO2, free flight, control line or non-flying detailed scale kit. Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Although they continued to produce kits for decades after the flying model slump following World War II, they eventually fell victim to the general lack of interest in modeling that occurred in the early 1980s. I always considered Sterling kits to be deluxe kits as they featured color decals, high-grade die cut balsa, vacuform plastic detail parts, plastic wheels (if required), finished wire landing gear, rubber motor and plastic prop, full size plans with instruction details and full instructions for conversion to RC or control line.
