Rare. 1970 issue featuring the Phota-Scope. In place of the nuclear reactor, Aurora placed a lens with a photograph of a submarine interior on a transparency. It was an interesting idea that Aurora extended to some tank kits at the same time. The kit has never been started. Still factory sealed. After WWI there was a surplus of JN-4 aircraft and many found their way into barnstorming across the country. Frank Hawks was one such pilot. Heddon, an enterprising fishing tackle manufacture, hired Frank to pilot this brilliantly painted Jenny in air shows as an advertising plan. This is one of Renewal's famous Aeroskin kits. The model has an injection molded inner structure of ribs and stringers like a real aircraft, then the modeler covers it with provided authentic pre-colored Aeroskin fabric. There is no painting needed as elaborate finishes are printed directly on the Aeroskin covering. This results a very realistic and colorful model.

Rare kit. The US Navy WWI Submarine chaser was a 110 foot wooden vessel. The ships carried a crew of 25 and were armed with a 3 lb deck gun and a "Y" gun for discharging depth charges. The ships proved valuable in combating the German U-boats in the Atlantic and Mediterranean. Some were updated and saw service in WWII. The kit is molded in correct light blue and silver. NOTE: this kit is a builder kit and not a collectors kit. The model has not been started but is missing the following parts: on large deck vent, rear flat deck house top and two flat sides. The deck sides and roof could be easily made, the vent will need to come from a spares box or metal ship fittings provider. One prop has two blades broken off and missing. Otherwise, the rest of the kit is inventoried complete. Includes flag sheet, decals and instructions.
