Drive is through a gear box on all four props with metal shafts and stuffing boxes. Nicely detailed and molded. Big 'A' logo issue dated 1972. In the late 1960s/early 1970s, Aurora realized that it needed to produce new and better kits if they were to stay in business. Several helicopters, aircraft and ships were released with markedly improved mold quality from the older kits. The UH-1 is one of those kits. Very nicely molded and detailed. I believe this is the 4th edition of this kit, and the first issue with this Jim Cox boxart. Dates from the mid 1956 with small 'Aurora Line' rectangular logo and 'Famous Fighters of All Nations'. It is interesting that this issue did not carry the standard Aurora 'Northern Lights' logo for 1956 - perhaps it was designed at the end of 1955 and simply left that way. Correctly molded in metallic burgundy and clear with the correct rectangular clear stand. For this issue the factory changed the swastikas on the tail to iron crosses and decals as well. This kit has never been started. It is either still in the internally sealed factory bag or has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.
