Jo-Han 1967 American Motors (AMC) Ambassador 2 Door Hardtop Customizing Kit - Stock / Custom, 1/25, C-1367-150

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

$210

Very, very rare original issue and even rarer in this condition. A very well detailed kit for that time that features detailed engine and engine compartment, opening hood, full interior, detailed underside, numerous custom parts, whitewall tires (or flip them over for black-walls) and much more. Molded in white, clear, red-tinted clear, chrome plate and with rubber tires. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes and the 'NEW! Chrome Trim' that Jo-Han introduced about this time. It was adhesive foil, just like modern Bare Metal Foil. NOTE: there is a very small and minor tire burn on the hood and the passengers "A" pillar is broken. All parts of the pillar and vent frame are present and fit back perfectly, so it can be repaired.

AMT 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe Promo With Original Box, 1/25

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$850

Very rare and in amazing, factory-new condition. This is an all original, one owner promotional model obtained on October 30, 1965 in Lexington KY by a very discriminating collector. It is still wrapped in the original factory tissue. The box is stamped 'Corvette HT Rally Red Black Int" on the side, which matches this model perfectly. The car is simply stunning - a good 9.5 out of 10 with a 10 being perfect. Color and gloss are fantastic, chrome is like new as well as all tires, parts and clear. Light cleaning is the only improvement that could be done to make it as close as they came to flawless from the factory. This model must be shipped insured.

AMT 1967 Pontiac GTO 2 Door Hardtop Promo, 1/25

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$215

Very rare and in amazing condition. All original, one owner promo obtained new in 1967 by a discriminating collector. Features brilliant deep red color and red-line tires. Color and gloss are like new, as is the chrome, clear and tires. Complete with all parts. Although I can't imagine how it could be better, I'll grade it 9.8 out of 10 as I hesitate to call anything perfect. The box is old and of the original style but it is not stamped on the end like the factory did; for that reason I presume it is not original to the model.

AMT 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Promo With Original Box And Tissue Paper, 1/25

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$595

Very, very rare promotional model, especially in this condition and with the original box. The box is stamped "CORVETTE CONV. 1736 SILVER PEARL." This is a one-owner model that was obtained new on November 5, 1965 in Lexington KY. It has never been displayed and has been stored in the original box and tissue since it left the factory. It is 100% complete and original with zero repairs or touch-ups. The paint and chrome are in factory-new condition. There is zero body warp and the clear is in 'mint' condition. I would grade this one 9.5 out of 10 with 10 flawless. The deduction is because there is a closed split (fits back perfectly) at the drivers side vent frame and the A pillar. Nothing is broken off, and the crack closes perfectly (it is invisible), so this is completely repairable; but I'll leave that to the new owner. Even includes the original factory packing paper. The box is complete with all flaps and solid but has wear as shown and age foxing.

MPC 1970 Dodge Challenger Sub Lime Promo With Original Box and Decals, 1/25

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

$450

Very, very rare promotional model, especially in this condition and with the original box and decals. The box is stamped "CHARGER SUB LIME." This model was obtained in 1972 in Lexington KY by a very discriminating adult collector. The model is in amazing condition. The paint has like-new color and gloss, the chrome is in factory-new condition and the model has never even been displayed outside the box. There is zero body warp and the clear is in 'near mint' condition. I would grade this one 9.5 out of 10 with 10 flawless. The deduction is for light box scratches on the roof. The decals are also very nice, with very light wear and a small amount of foxing being the only flaws. Even includes the original factory packing paper. The box is complete with all flaps and solid but has wear as shown and age foxing.

Aurora British Centurion Tank, 1/48, 300-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

$110

Very rare; true first issue. Please note the "Famous Fighters" in the box top logo at the upper right. I believe this was one year only, as the box is dated 1963 and by 1964 the 'Famous Fighters' was eliminated from most Aurora kits. Hard to find 1/48 scale armor kit with John Steel box art. Nicely done kit for that time. Molded in dark green with flexible black treads. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Airways Vac Form Vickers VC-10 C1 Plus K2 Tanker Conversion Parts and Plans, 1/72

Vacuform Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

$165

Large 1/72 scale VC10 C1 is the only big non-tanker version of this famous and dependable aircraft. Nicely molded with fine recessed panel lines and better detail than many injection molded models. Includes injection molded struts, molded clear front cockpit windows as well as extensive instructions and plans and a very large decal sheet. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The C1 was the first VC10 version used by the RAF. The following history is from Wikipedia: The first RAF aircraft, designated VC10 C Mk. 1, often abbreviated to VC10 C1, was delivered for testing on 26 November 1965; deliveries to No. 10 Squadron began in December 1966 and ended in August 1968. The VC10s were named after Victoria Cross (VC) medal holders, and were displayed above the forward passenger door. During the 1960s, the VC10s of No. 10 Squadron operated two regular routes, one to the Far East to Singapore and Hong Kong, and the other to New York. By 1970, roughly 10,000 passengers and 730,000 lb of freight were being carried monthly by the VC10 fleet. In addition to the strategic transport role, the VC10 routinely served in the aeromedical evacuation and VIP roles. In the VIP role, the aircraft was commonly used by members of the British Royal family, such as during Elizabeth II's bicentennial tour of America and by several British Prime Ministers. Margaret Thatcher reportedly insisted on flying by VC10. The aircraft proved capable of being flown non-stop by two flight crews, enabling several round-the-world flights. One such VC10 circumnavigated the globe in less than 48 hours.

Airways Vac Form Bristol Britannia 312 BOAC, 1/72

$175

Very large kit and the only 1/72 scale Britannia ever made. It is a very nice kit of this famous civil transport and comes with a very large and colorful decal sheet with full markings for several different BOAC aircraft. Nicely molded with fine recessed panel lines. The mold quality is actually better than some injection molded kits. Features white main vac parts, clear molded cockpit windows and injection molded struts and prop blanks as well as extensive, illustrated instruction book and plans.

Jo-Han 1970 Cadillac Coupe de Ville Promo With Original Box, 1/25

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

$195

Very rare, especially in this condition. One-owner model was obtained new in 1970 in Lexington, KY by a very discriminating adult collector. The box is original to the model and stamped "1970 Cadillac" on the end flap. The actual model has perfect color and gloss, the chrome is like new and has never even been displayed. Tires are perfect (never rolled) and it has never even been displayed. I would grade it 9 out of 10 with 10 being flawless. I would grade it 9.8 out of 10, but there is a dark shadow in the left lower corner of the rear window; please see the photos. It appears that something may be stuck in there; I'll leave it to the new owner to take care of that.

AMT 1968 Ford Galaxie XL GT 428 2 Door Hardtop Promo With Original Box, 1/25

$179

Very rare, especially in this condition. Original friction-drive promotional model in a stunning yellow with a black chassis and metal axles. One-owner model was obtained new in 1969 in Lexington, KY by a very discriminating adult collector. The box is original. The model has perfect color and gloss, the chrome is like new and has never even been displayed. Tires are perfect (never rolled) and it has never even been displayed. I would grade it 9.7 out of 10 with 10 being flawless. I naturally hesitate to declare anything 'flawless.'

ITC Halibut SSGN 587 Cam-A-Matic Submarine - (Electric Powered Diving Motorized Regulus Sub), 1/175, 3660-998

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$699

From 1960. NOTE: kit is 100% complete but has minor (6 parts neat assembly so please read carefully. This model is the zenith of the ITC Design and Engineering Team, and maybe of all operational plastic model kits. It is not only rare but is considered the most complicated operating model ever produced. The large 24.75 inch submarine sails from the power of a large electric motor driving twin geared propellers. It changes headings, dives, surfaces, and a Regulus II missile comes out of the hanger and launches...all automatically. The engineering on this kit is fantastic and a major break-through for that time. The model worked, and did work well, but was certainly not a toy for inexperienced model builders. The high price ($9.98) and difficulties that youngsters had with assembly and operation made for a short production run. The fact the ITC left the model business for good shortly after releasing the kit contributed to the scarcity as well. The boxtop displays much better than the 'good' grade; I have graded it 'good' because the box has clear tape on it, split corners, a taped closed tear of 2.5" on one long side and general wear as shown. Molded in the correct white and red, with numerous metal shaft, chain, screws and the correct motor. Inside, the kit is in very good condition but NOTE: it has neat, minor assembly. The main batter cover, battery contact and wire have been assembled. It was adult done to 'professional' quality. On the top inner hull, parts 11, 16 and 14 are installed, to 'excellent+ to professional' quality. A very small 1/2" x 1/4" (1.3 x .6 cm) clear panel is installed on the underside center of the lower hull - the work done is 'excellent++' and it is watertight. There is no other assembly. The kit has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts present and decals (stickers) and instructions. Stickers and instructions are in 'near mint' condition. The factory internal packing cardboard is complete and in 'excellent+' condition as shown. NOTE: this kit must be shipped insured.

NOTE: decals have bug damage to the backing paper only; the transfers are fine except for typical micro-cracking. There are a few minor tire burns but not on any major parts.

AMT 1968 Ford Thunderbird Coupe Promo With Original Box, 1/25, 9228-250

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$115

Very rare friction motor promotional in superb condition and includes the original box. This model was obtained in 1968 by a discriminating adult collector in Lexington KY. The promo has never even been displayed - it has been in the box since it left the factory. The color and gloss are factory new. The chrome is 'near mint.' There is no body warp and the clear is in 'near mint' condition. I would grade this one 9 out of 10 with 10 being flawless. The deduction is for very light box roof scuffs. The original box is complete and 'very good+' with general age wear.
