Very rare first and only Motorized Issue of the Coral Sea. Dated 1960. Features stuffing boxes and dual shaft/dual propeller drive through a reduction gearbox. Furnished with electric motor, metal contacts and on/off switch. Uses two 'C' batteries. Nicely molded full hull kit with rudder and propeller details, positionable elevators, 3 and 5 inch AA guns, boats and boat cranes, mobile aircraft deck crane and tugs, detailed island and an airwing of 26 aircraft - 2 Skyraiders, 6 Corsairs, 16 Cougars and 2 helicopters. Factory sealed. Investment-grade condition box and kit. Dated 1960, but the lack of 'Famous Fighters' in the sunburst oval log and printed '100' price extension means that it is from the mid 1960s. These molds are from one of Aurora's first two kits - the F9F and F-90. Aurora simply went out and purchased the two early Hawk F9F and F-90 kits and copied them almost exactly.

Still factory sealed. Out of production kit of the US Navy's first airship. Large 24 inch kit features laser cut plywood bulkheads, contest quality balsa, numerous vacuformed parts such as the nose, control gondola and engine gondolas, tissue covering and full size plans. The ZR-3 was originally built by Zeppelin Works at Friedrichshafen Germany. She was commissioned as the USS Los Angeles in 1924 by Mrs. Calvin Collidge. The Los Angeles logged almost 7 years of service and flew 4,398 hours. She was used to develop the US low-mast mooring system and pioneered the airplane-airship hook-up technique that later became famous in the 'aircraft carrier airships' Akron and Macon.

Hard to find kit from the late 1950s. The Pyro company chose many of it's kit subjects based more on historical significance than popularity. Luckily for us, Pyro not only made these kits but did an excellent job for the time. Wonderful boxart by Russell W. Arnold. The Paddy is molded in light blue, includes two figures, vacuform billowing sails, a display stand, hanging lanterns and rigging instructions. This kit has never been started. 1930s issue kit from the famous Ideal Aeroplane & Supply Company which was founded in 1911. Nicely done kit features a fully precarved solid balsawood hull, three sheets of nicely done printwood, numerous wood stock and metal stock as needed, full color flag sheet, sealed bag of metal fittings, sandpaper and very well drawn full size plans that include numerous detail and section views. The kit has not been started. Inside it is exactly as it left the factory down to the packing paper. Includes an excellent magazine article on these interesting ships. The US Navy WWI Submarine chaser was a 110 foot wooden vessel. The ships carried a crew of 25 and were armed with a 3 lb deck gun and a "Y" gun for discharging depth charges. The ships proved valuable in combating the German U-boats in the Atlantic and Mediterranean. Some were updated and saw service in WWII.
