Rare Renwal-FROG issue. Classic box art showing the Nike Ajax blowing up what appears to be a B-17 over an American city. Large scale kit has excellent detail. Still factory sealed. Very nice older kit from original Pyro (later Life-Like) molds. Great box artwork by John Steel. Measures about 8 inches long when assembled. Features a very nicely molded and detailed full hull, fine simulated deck planking, deck fittings, display stand, billowing sails, preformed rat lines, rigging thread and rigging diagram. The Revenge was an Elizabethan Galleon launched in 1577. Revenge had 46 guns and was 92 feet long. She was part of Sir Francis Drake's fleet of 80 ships that defeated the Armada. In 1661 the Revenge was attacked by a fleet of 16 Spanish Galleons. She sank two and disabled two of her enemy before being forced to surrender. Three days later she was sunk in a storm while returning to Spain as a war prize.

Hard to find first issue from 1969. This is the best example of this kit that I have personally seen. It is unusually complete with all first edition paperwork, factory sealed parts bags and an exceptional box. The box grades 'Exc++' and features like new color and gloss, all solid corners and is free from rips, tears, price tags or tape, tape or tag marks, etc. The only flaws are light surface wear and light scuffing. The tabs that close the box are intact and all internal packing material, including the holders for the completed kit, are intact. Mold quality is excellent as is typical with the first issue. (Molds become worn as reissued are made and detail becomes less crisp and flash appears.) This is the finest large scale injection molded kit of the legendary workhorse. Model actually comes apart and each sequence configuration of the Apollo Mission can be demonstrated with this model: Lift Off, 2nd stage, 3rd stage, separation, docking, lunar orbit, lunar module separation, lunar descent, lunar exploration, lunar lift-off, docking, starting for earth, separation, and reentry/recovery. Includes a clear panel for viewing the lunar module inside the Saturn V. A moon base is included in case you wish to display the Command Module and Lunar Module separately. The kit has never been started. The parts that were in bags are still in factory sealed bags. All parts that were never bagged have been inventoried 100% complete. Complete with excellent condition instructions, decals, clear window material, 1969 Revell miniature kit catalog, order form for the Apollo program record and 'The Apollo Story' illustrated booklet.

From original Pyro molds. The Joseph Conrad was built in 1882 in Denmark as the Georg Stage. Alan Villiers bought the ship in 1934 and saved it from the breakers. He renamed it Joseph Conrad for the famous maritime author. The ship made a famous round-the-world voyage from which Villiers wrote three books about the travels. The ship is now a museum ship at Mystic Seaport in Connecticut and is still used for static sailing ship training. The kit is well detailed and measures about 16 inches long when built.
