Never started and inventoried 100% complete with all parts and excellent instructions. Also includes entry form for the Monogram Cadillac Contest, an unopened tube of colorfully decorated Mono-Glue and a very early Monogram small format catalog for 1955, showing the only 8 plastic models in production at the time and a great many wooden Speedee-Bilt, Superkit, Jet Racers and US Fighting Ships static and flying kits. Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: No Box

Sold

Bagged kit - no box. The box is shown for reference only. 1967 Pyro issue from original molds. In the early to mid 1960s the Pyro company chose many of it's kit subjects based more on historical significance than popularity. Luckily for us, Pyro not only made these kits but did an excellent job for the time. This Pyro car model is based on the Model 30 that was on display in the Auto Aviation Museum in Cleveland, Ohio that Pyro engineers and designers had access to. The model includes rubber tires, brass plated parts, colored injection molded parts and clear parts. Features detailed chassis, complete motor and interior and a removable hood or 'bonnet'. Monogram United States Earth Satellites Vanguard and Jupiter C with Launching Pad and Crew, 1/96, PD41-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Sold

Very rare. First and only issue from 1958 with box art by R. Price. Very nicely detailed and molded in silver, gray and white plastic. Features missiles, launching pad with railings, ladders and crew of four. Never started. Decals are in excellent condition with a tiny bit of yellowing as the only flaw. Instructions are excellent also with very slight yellowing. Inventoried complete with all parts, Monogram Missile Models insert sheet and small Monogram catalog. Shipping insurance is required on this kit. It's interesting to speculate on how this kit became one of the rarest 1950s Monogram kits. Although Monogram and Revell found that missile kits sold very well initially, the interest fell off rapidly. Even the molds for such a simple kit would have cost $20,000 to $30,000 in 1958 US Dollars - so obviously the kit did not sell well or it would have been continued. The main reason is probably that this kit is a very late Monogram missile, and was issued when interest was already waning. Whereas other missile kits (Missile Arsenal) were reworked and re-released, the Earth Satellites never were and are seen much less often than the Rascal and Regulus II.

The F-102 equipped all 25 of the ADC squadrons in the day, served in SE Asia and equipped many ANG units. Marlin Chemical and Ladder - American Firefighters, 1/48, 101 FC

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

Sold

Very rare. In 1952 Marlin Toy Company of New York City, New York entered the plastic model business. The Revell 'Highway Pioneers' were making a huge impact on the hobby industry and the timing seemed perfect. Marlin first cut the molds in 1952 and issued the six original American Firefighters -Chemical and Ladder, Steamer, Hook and Ladder, Water Tower, Aerial Ladder and Hose Reel. The boxes were identical as a cost saving measure - similar to the Revell Highway Pioneers. Revell signed a marketing agreement with Marlin in 1953. Five of the kit were released with the Revell name and marketing name 'Collectors Kits, Closter N.J.' Revell added the horse parts as they were not originally part of the Marlin issues. The kits made excellent display pieces, but they never caught the imagination of young men like jet aircraft did. The five molds were shipped to Brazil. After a run for Kikoler (Revell Brazil's Distributor), they were shipped back to the USA but the molds were lost at sea. This is an original Marlin kit and contains the Chemical and Ladder. It is molded in dark red and yellow with the small parts still sealed in the factory wax bag. The non-sealed parts have been inventoried complete including rope, metal axles and instructions in excellent condition.
