Nicely molded rare kit. The Cierva was issued as and RAF model and a civil model - this is the civil kit with decals for registration G-ACUT. The kit has never been started - all parts, decals and instructions have been inventoried complete. Veeday was British company that produced some of the early 'short run' injection molded kits. Production lasted from 1978 to 1982. In all, 16 kits were issued if you count the Cierva C30 RAF and the C30 civil issue as two kits. Less than 1000 of each kit was produced and all kits were boxed. Two bagged kits (Pfalz D.XII and Spitfire 24) were issued after Veeday ceased production by someone who purchased the left-over stock.

Includes instructions in excellent condition. 'Miniature Masterpieces' was formed through an alliance of Lew Glaser (Revell) and Steve Adams (Adams Action Models) in 1953. Although the molds were made at Adams and it had the appearance of an independent company, the firm was run by Revell down to the prototypes being made at the Revell plant. Originally there was no evidence of the parent company on the surface. The State Coach of England was the first kit, issued in 1953. More kits of excellent quality followed. Revell completely took over the line in 1954 and in that year and the next, kits were labeled 'Revell' with a 'Miniature Masterpiece' label on the box top also.

Air Lines North American B-25C Mitchell - RAF, 1/72, 12900

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+++

Sold

High quality Frog kit - no rivets, just fine panel lines for a realistic model. Features separately molded rudder, elevator and ailerons, pilot and gunner figure and detailed engines with rotating propellers. This kit has never been started. It is either still in the internally sealed factory bag or has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. This box has some of my favorite Jo Kotula boxart. Kotula originally did 1930s covers for the magazine 'Model Airplane News' and later the Aurora box art of the late 1950s. Air Lines kits are all Frog molds that the Lines Brothers imported to the USA between 1964-1966. The kits, decals and instructions were made in England, then imported to the USA where Testors created the boxes with the colorful trading cards on the back. There are one or two trading cards on each box which show the boxart but not the advertising/logo. Some kits contain a Testors color painting guide also, but it is not specific to any model.
