This is one of a wonderful and extensive line of 1/48 car kits from Renwal. Dates from the 1960s. Idea for use in 1/48 dioramas with aircraft, armor or for use in O Scale train layouts. Renwal did an excellent job on engineering and detail for these kits. Features a one piece main upper body, one piece lower body with fenders, complete interior, plated bumpers, grill and many other plated parts as required, separately molded front axle/suspension and rear axle/drive shaft, clear windows, separately molded headlights with clear lenses and rubber tires. Molded in high gloss green, chrome, gloss black, clear, red and with rubber tires. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including instructions.

Dated 1945. Almost everyone has heard of the Comet flying aircraft kits that boys and men built from stick and tissue, but few know that Comet had a line of ships also. Very nicely done wooden model that measures 10 inches long when assembled. The hull had been very neatly factory machine cut to the overhead (beam) dimensions only. Also includes two sheets of printwood, mast and gun barrel material, sandpaper, a wonderful, full bottle of Comet Dope (gray) and full size plans. The plans are superior to most ship plans of the day with 5 hull sections, full size top and side drawings, illustrated instructions and several detail drawings. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. Please note that Comet does not identify the kit as the New York or her sister Texas but I have identified the class from the drawings. The kit represents them after the 1930s refit with a single funnel.
