SALE!! Includes two models in one box. Both kits are inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present but NOTE: they 'professional' quality subassembly as follows: Kit #1: cockpit tub; nacelle halves; wing halves; small radar halves. There is no other assembly. Kit #2: same as kit #1 plus nacelles are glued to the wings; main gear doors are assembled in the 'up' position. There is no other assembly. These are both well molded kits that are likely from the 1980. Features cockpit detail, retractable radome, optional position landing gear, rotating propellers and more. Includes markings for US Navy VS-21 and JSDF. Over 1000 Trackers were completed for the Navy as carrier-based submarine hunters. Grumman was awarded the contract in 1950, and in 1952 the first XS2F-1 flew. The large belly radome contained the PAS-38 search radar and the ASQ-10 MAD detector was in the tail. ALD-3 ECM performed DF (direction finding) duties, and the 70 million candle power spotlight lit up targets at night. Sonobuoys were held in both engine nacelles and offensive weapons included acoustic torpedoes, depth charges, rockets and conventional bombs. Trackers saw service in several other Navies including Canada.

This is a very good kit and most likely from Airfix molds. It features good cockpit and crew stations, optional position canopy, two figures, moving ailerons, optional position landing gear, internal bomb load with optional position doors and more. With a four view painting guide and decals for the aircraft shown on the box art. Here is the sobering history of this exact airframe and it's crew: Fairey Battle Mk.1 K9353 (HA-J) 218 Squadron, RAF: Written off (destroyed) when lost on combat operations. All three crew were killed. According to the official Air Ministry report into the incident: "Battle K9353 shot down near Bouillon, Belgium, 12 May 1940. Sergeant J B Horner, Sergeant L C Flisher and Leading Aircraftman L D Davies: report of deaths".The AASF's Battles carried out an operation during the afternoon when 15 aircraft attacked German troops near Bouillon. Six aircraft failed to return. During the day, the Battles had suffered an amazing loss rate of 62%. K9353 was airborne from Auberive-sur-Suippes. Shot down by intense ground Flak/AA fire at Sensenruth, 3 km North of Bouillon, Belgium. According to some sources, the Battle failed to release its bomb load before being shot down, and that the bombs on board exploded after the aircraft crashed into the trunk of a tree. All three crew fatalities were buried at Senseruth (Curfoz) in Belgium. Sensenruth is a village of the Belgian city of Bouillon located in the Walloon Region in the province of Luxembourg at approximate co ordinates: 49°49 'North, 5°04' East.

Rare and one of the few ways to build a 1/72 Mojave Helicopter. This is a basic kit with white vacuform parts with fine recessed surface detail and a clear canopy. The white parts include fuselage, 'pontoons' and all tail feathers. The clear canopy has raised frame detail as does the clear lower nose section; clear parts are in mint condition and not yellowed. Includes instructions. Never started and inventoried complete. A certain degree of modeling skill is required to build vacuform kits and a spare parts box (from injection molded kits) is a must.
