The I-19 is famous for firing history's most successful torpedo spread off Guadalcanal. On September 14, 1942, the I-19 was patrolling of the Solomons when she fired a 6 torpedo spread. Three hit and sank the US Carrier CV-7 WASP, and the remaining three exploded against the BB North Carolina and the destroyer O'Brien. The destroyer sank and the North Carolina had to be repaired at Pearl till November 16, 1942. The I-19's Glen seaplane also flew night reconnaissance on February 23, 1942 over Pearl Harbor for the planned second attack by Emily flying boats on that base. Early 1970s Aurora of Canada issue in the 'Big A' box. Large scale kit is almost 16 inches long when assembled. This is a very nice model from Aurora's efforts of the late 1960s/early 1970s. Aurora knew that the 1950s kits were outclassed by the mid 60s and cut a new series of molds including several ships, helos and subs. The result was very good mold quality and detail. Includes large display stand molded in wood brown, decals, periscope and cranes, detailed Glen Seaplane, conning tower and deck guns. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

From the early 1960s. Fantastic Cold-War artwork on this early issue. The Ethan Allen was the lead submarine of her class. These George Washington Class replacements had 16 tubes as before, but could carry the Polaris A-1, A-2 and A-3. Classic large (24" long) SSBN kit actual 'fires' Polaris Missiles from a spring-loaded hull launch tube. Highly detailed for that time and well molded. Starboard hull halve hinges down to reveal full interior detail for each compartment. The kit has never been started. Includes True Details #48478 SR-71 Blackbird Cockpit Detail Set in resin. It has not been used and is still factory sealed. The actual models are the rare AAFES release containing both Lockheed spyplanes in 1/48. SR-71 measures over 26 inches long when assembled. Has markings and optional parts for "A" or "B" variants. Includes markings for one "B" (956) and two different "A" - 974 is a standard SR-71A and 972 is a 'Low Observable' scheme. Decals are included for the CIA A-12 / M-12, but Testors never did furnish the parts. The instructions provide drawings for making the proper modifications. Both kits are molded in black and clear. Neither has been started. Both kits are still sealed in the factory parts bags and include decals and instructions.

This model must be shipped insured.

The break is clean and is a very simple fix.
