1979 Revell Advent issue. Kit is over 20 inches long and includes a one piece hull, SBD scout-bombers, moving cranes, detailed island structure and a partial hanger decks where you can display aircraft. The kit has never been started. The parts that were factory sealed are still in the sealed bags. The parts that were not factory sealed have been inventoried complete including decals, flag sheet and instructions. If you are curious, this kit is actually different from the Revell 1/490 CV-5 Yorktown and Hornet kits of the same era. The Yorktown differences include the bridge catwalk, island searchlight platforms, number of search lights, small boat configuration and radar. CV-6 has a combat record unequaled in history of the US Navy and is considered the most Successful Warship in History. Her totals were as follows: 20 Battle Stars, 911 Aircraft Destroyed and 71 Ships Sunk. She took part in almost every major action of the Pacific war from 1941 to 1945. The fascinating history of this ship is told by Commander Edward P. Stafford, USN, in his legendary book 'The Big E - The Story of the USS Enterprise.'

1957 hardbox issue. Please note that this is an earlier issue with 'Famous Fighters' in the oval border of the Aurora logo. Small scale kit with dramatic Jo Kotula box artwork. Nicely molded kit with clear canopy, full landing gear and display stand. This is a model of the very early YF-102 prototype with the straight (non-area rule) fuselage. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. Around this time, Aurora issued a series of inexpensive (usually 29 cent) small scale kits that were designed to sell at almost any type of retail location. The line was successful and further expanded - when Aurora purchased the Comet molds, they fit in nicely with this established line.

1953 Pre-'S' release. Beautiful boxart in investment-grade condition. I hesitate to call anything perfect, but this is as close as it gets to pulling a kit out of the factory shipping box in 1953. Vibrant color and gloss is as new. There are no price tags or tag marks. There are tape marks from the original factory sealing tape but no tears. The original tape has long fallen off. Edge and corner wear are infinitesimal. There is no creasing or convex shape. All four corners are solid and original. Inside, the kit is still mint. It has never been started. All small parts are still in the factory sealed bag. The parts that were never sealed are inventoried complete. Includes decals, flags and instructions in 'excellent' condition with the typical yellowing.

One of a very popular line of World War 1 flying aircraft stick-and-tissue kits with 18 inch wingspans. Kit features scale plastic wheels, plastic propeller, light vacuform nose cowl, die cut balsa parts, colored tissue, rubber motor and full decals. Includes excellent, full size, detailed plans. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Guillow's founder, Paul K. Guillow, was a WWI naval aviator. In 1926 he began producing wooden model airplane kits. His 'Shelf Models' were some of the earlier non-flying models in production. Guillow's grew during the model boom of the 1930s, and when the Depression hit the hardest, Guillow's responded with lower prices and became one of the low price leaders, frequently advertising in Model Airplane News and other leading publications. During the war, like most manufacturers, Guillow's was forced to alternative materials such as cardboard and pine. Guillow's survived the post WWII slump by creating many inexpensive profile flying rubber powered aircraft and gliders in the 1950s (along with North Pacific) which became famous - some are still available today. The stick and tissue lines have been updated with laser cut parts and are still in production as of 2009.
