As big as an aircraft, the Kometa-20 (K-20) was one of the first airborne strategic missile systems. Due to it's range (600km, but with the range of the Tu-95 that carried it, add 6400 km to that), high speed (mach 2) and massive size (which held the big 5,000 lb 37D three-megaton thermonuclear warhead), the Kangaroo was a real threat, especially in the early Cold War years. AS-3s were replaced in the 1980s by the new K-22 system. This model is perfect for a 1/72 airbase diorama. This model is a very highly detailed waterline kit and probably the finest 1/700 Borodino ever available. Features superb cast resin hull, turrets, funnels & other larger parts, two large frets of PE parts & one smaller fret, turned brass gun barrels and more. The brass photoetched parts are exceptional and constitute a great deal of the kit including upper decks, railings, davits, ladder and much more. Also includes brass stock for masts and yards. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes and instructions. Borodino was the lead ship of her class of five pre-dreadnought battleships built for the Imperial Russian Navy in the first decade of the twentieth century. Completed after the beginning of the Russo-Japanese War in 1904, Borodino was assigned to the Second Pacific Squadron that was sent to the Far East a few months after her completion to break the Japanese blockade of Port Arthur. The Japanese captured the port while the squadron was in transit and their destination was changed to Vladivostok. The ship was sunk during the Battle of Tsushima in May 1905 due to explosions set off by a Japanese shell hitting a magazine. There was only a single survivor from her crew of 855 officers and enlisted men.

This ship was named after the city of Sevastopol, built by Galerniy Yard, St. Petersburg, laid down in 1892, launched in June 1895. She was commissioned in 1897 and was based at Port Arthur. She fought in the Battle of the Yellow Sea, but failed to escape and was scuttled during the Siege of Port Arthur. the Japanese did not salvage her because she was too badly damaged and scuttled in deep water.

Limited edition waterline kit. Features a beautifully cast resin hull and resin details. Detail is far superior to injection molded kits. The kit has never been started. From Dusty Rhodes: This was a remarkable vessel, continuing afloat and in service from immediately after the American Civil War to the time of Kruschev's premiership. This proverbial longevity was commemorated in a Russian postage stamp in 1972. In 1867, Russian naval officers were deeply impressed by USS Miantonomoh (1863) when that vessel visited Kronstadt. Peter Velikiy was Russia's effort to emulate the American ship, with an intent to improve her seakeeping abilities. This kit shows the ship in this as-launched configuration. Much later she was cut down to the berth deck and rebuilt as a heavy cruiser and bore no similarity to the original. Fortunately for Peter, this kept the ship in Russian yards during Russia's war with Japan. She served as a training ship and sub tender in WW I and was in service as a utility hulk from 1921 until some time after 1959.

Very, very rare model for the advanced wood kit collector. This is a Joe Ott solid wood scale model gift set that includes all four aircraft models. Features four fuselage blocks with the fuselage outlines printed on them, four sheets of printwood, color insignia sheets for each aircraft, sandpaper, an unopened metal tube of glue, a large glass bottle with paint (dried up of course) and a huge, fold-out set of plans and instructions that separately covers all four models. The plans include fuselage and wing templates, a drawing of the finished model and text instructions. Each model has a 9 inch wingspan. The instructions are 'good+' and completely usable, but they are not perfect. This model has never been started. It has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts for four kits and all paperwork present. The box is intact (which is amazing) but it has wear, split corners and closed tears on the two short side panels.
