1970s issue of this famous 1950s kit. Features traditional stick-and-tissue construction, quality printwood, factory-cut stringers and spars, completely finished wheels & thrust button, rubber motor, propeller, metal shaft/rubber hook, nose block, clear canopy material, tissue and detailed full size plans with building instructions. The model has not been started. Inventoried complete with all parts and instructions. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.

This model is from the original 1950s molds and builds into a nice kit for that time. Includes detailed decks and fittings, lifeboats, decals, flags and rigging instructions. There is no assembly but NOTE: there is painting as follows: hull (black, ;very good'), decks (green, 'good-'), one small lifeboat and one boom. There is no other painting. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, 'near mint' condition decals and instructions included. The box is graded 'poor' because it is very badly worn and missing a few small sections.

2001 Revell release of the original Aurora kit. When Aurora discontinued plastic kit production, Monogram purchased the molds. Monogram reissued kits that were accurate enough to meet their standards; and after Monogram modified the molds, the Skipjack was one of them. The modifications were significant and make it a much better kit. Now that Revell and Monogram have merged, Revell has run the Aurora molds also. It features moving hull and conning tower planes, display stand and a removable hatch revealing bulkheads and reactor detail. The kit has never been started. 1985 Revell of Germany reissue from the original 1974 USA molds. Can be built waterline or full hull with complete propeller and rudder detail. Features detailed deck and superstructure, rotating main 8" turrets, six dual AA gun mounts, three rangefinders, cranes, gun directors, searchlights, AR-196 floatplane and more. The Blucher had the dubious distinction of being the only capital ship sunk in WWII by coastal torpedo batteries. She was also the only German capital ship to be sunk during the Norway invasion of April 1940, repeating the history of the previous Armored Cruiser Blucher which was the only capital ship lost at the Battle of Dogger Bank in WWI. The WWII Blucher was surprised by Norwegian coastal torpedo batteries and guns from the fortress of Oscarsborg while sailing up the fjord towards Oslo.

First issue hardbox in very nice condition. This legendary AMT 3-In-1 kit can be built stock, custom or competition. The Alexander Brothers served as the AMT consultant for this kit; Barris did many of the others. Model includes numerous optional parts for suspension, motor, exterior and interior as well as custom decals. Molded in white, clear, red-tinted clear and chrome plate with rubber whitewall tires. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Both the decals and instructions are in remarkable 'excellent+' condition. NOTE: there is a very, very light tire burn on the trunk. It's so light that I almost missed it. Easily polished or sanded & polished out with Novus plastic polish.
