This limited edition model is finely cast in high definition resin and features all fine recessed surface detail, a clear vacuform canopy, 'good' cockpit detail and more. From the excellent website daveswarbirds.com: The aircraft that was eventually to be known as the Ki-77 was designed as a civilian long-distance record-breaking aircraft which would fly in the sub-stratosphere. It was hoped that its development would eventually lead to a future stratospheric transport aircraft. Work on the project began in March 1940, with further development being interrupted by the beginning of the Pacific War. Development resumed in the summer of 1942 under the designation of Ki-77, with the hopes that it could be used as a long-range communications aircraft that would help keep Japan in contact with the other Axis powers. Only two prototypes were completed, though they did achieve some unofficial speed records before the war's end.

Early hardbox issue from the late 1950s with colorful Ray Gaedke hardbox artwork. The box is in amazing investment grade 'near mint' condition with like-new color and gloss, four solid corners, no repairs, fading, creases or stains. Light general wear and tape marks on the two longs sides are the only flaw. This is the second issue of this kit for the USA, with added fine rivet detail and molded in silver and clear. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts decals and instructions. This kit started as a basic 1/48 scale model with full landing gear, rockets and bombs. Surface detail was minimal Lindberg modified it in the mid 1950s with fine raised panel lines and tasteful rivet detail. In the late 1950s, they modified it again to a motorized version with the batteries in the stand and a kit electric motor in the nose. Lindberg is a company with a fascinating history The original 'Lindberg Line' stretches back to the 1930s when Paul Lindberg drew plans for famous modeling magazines and marketed his balsa wood 'stick and tissue' by urging dealers to carry the '...Complete Lindberg Line'. Fresh from old hobby shop stock with a box in 'Excellent++' condition. Somehow this box even escaped the factory sealing tape machine, as it has no sealing tape and no typical stains from the tape. The color and gloss are perfect, as are the corners. The only thing keeping it from grading higher is slight sun fading to the right short side panel. Revell took the excellent original F-104 molds and made this new issue by adding four then-new AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles, ground missile trailer and ground crew. Molded in the correct correct gloss silver & clear and with the clear Revell Swivel Stand. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Decals and instructions are both in 'near mint' condition with very slight yellowing being the only flaw.

First issue 1958 hardbox and possibly the best injection molded kit of the first aircraft to sustain powered, controlled flight. Excellent detail and includes rigging material and instructions. Also features figures of Orville and Wilbur Wright, monorail launching track and carrier dolly and historical accessories- 'C' clamp, bench, can, spade and starting battery that were all present at the first flight. ODK was the logo used by Odaka Sangyo. Odaka began plastic model kit production in early 1960, but all production stopped by 1965. The Irving was their first kit and this Nick came later. Molded in what appears to be a very depp blue and clear plastic. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions. NOTE: missing decals. The box says this is one of "Odaka's Double Engine Aircraft Series" and ODK says the scale is 1/55. The other twin aircraft that ODK released include the XP-50, P-38, Me-110 and this Ki-45.
