Aurora Aston Martin DB-4, 1/25, 562-198

Hardbox kit dated 1965. Aurora issued this kit in the wake of the highly successful James Bond 007 series. For Aurora, this kit was an amazing improvement in mold quality and detail; so much so that Monogram reissued this kit after they purchased the Aurora molds. Features fully detailed engine and engine compartment, opening hood, complete interior with folding front seat backs, opening driver and passenger doors, fully detailed underside with separately molded suspension, differential, springs, steering linkage, drive shaft and exhaust, opening trunk showing full spare tire, battery and four pieces of fitted luggage and more. Molded in correct gloss red, black, white, clear, chrome and with real rubber tires. Never started. The black and red parts are still in factory-sealed bags. The parts that were never factory sealed have been inventoried complete with instructions.

Very rare. Thi sis a solid wood kit of this early USN submarine that was unfortunately rammed and sunk by the City Of Rome. The kit consists of a 3D machine cut to profile wood hull (requires sanding to round shape), printwood, wood stock, cardstock detail parts and even a corked, glass vial of paint and a metal tube of glue - both in the original small paper bag. Even sandpaper is included. The plans are complete but have long closed splits - they are in two parts. The plans include very nice text directions, very good top and side elevations, several detail drawings and hull cross sections for shaping. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes insignia (on the plans) and instructions.

Quality kit from ex-Doyusha molds. Very nice kit that is designed for water operation. Automatically dives and surfaces while underway. Includes Mabuchi RE-280 motor and all metal hardware required. Features detailed superstructure, AA guns and deck gun and Seiran aircraft with crane. Includes rigging diagram, decals and instructions. Molded in dark red (below the waterline parts), dark gray (above waterline parts) and wood tan (decking). Heavily illustrated instructions are in English and Japanese. The kit has never been started. All parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags.

Still factory sealed. Dated 1995 and is from the original 1976 molds. Monogram cut the molds for this model - it is NOT from Aurora molds. Features very clean parts, very good detail, one piece full hull with complete propeller and rudder detail, two observation float planes, elevating main gun, main turrets that move with the gun directors and more. Model is 16 inches long when assembled and includes a display stand.

Still factory sealed. Older but detailed kit that is scaled from US Army photos. Includes operating front shield sight and wheels. One tree is brass plated. About 7 inches long assembled. Palmer made a range of five field gun kits which included the Gatling Gun, Civil War Field Piece, Revolutionary War Cannon, Naval Cannon and 75mm World War I Artillery Piece. The original issues contained brass plated parts and chain or rope as necessary. The economy line was issued without brass plating or chain. Finally, there was a deluxe series that included extra parts such as limbers, carriers and caisson. Life-Like eventually purchased the molds and reissued the line in the mid to late 1970s, and Encore reissued some of them in 1993.

Brand new, old hobby shop stock. Never used. Perhaps the best model of this bus. Fully factory assembled and painted except for the side view mirrors, which are still sealed in the factory bag. Although this is brand new, the plastic did come off the cardboard card. I have taped it back on.

Still factory sealed. Purchased new on May 19, 1967 at Woolworths in Cleveland, Ohio. Mold origins unknown - possible Marusan molds. If so, then Marusan copied the Hawk kit as the part layout, panel lines and rivets are identical. Good kit with recessed and raised panel lines. Includes cockpit, rockets, drop tanks, optional position canopy and gear and decals for two different 8th Air Force aircraft. UPC stood for Universal Powermaster Corporation which was based out of New York City, NY. UPC did not cut their own molds, but bought kits already molded from other manufacturers and re-boxed the kits in the USA. Scott Eidson, the famous artist best known for his artwork with Revell, also did UPC box art in the 1960s. All UPC production ended in the 1970s.
