Very rare kit with excellent Seiran documentation down to photos of actual aircraft assembly. Superbly molded in high-definition resin and very well detailed. Features fine recessed panel lines, one-piece fuselage with cockpit detail, one piece wing (wing and fuselage are perfectly straight and not warped), one-piece floats, torpedo load-out, decals for three different aircraft and a remarkable 11 page booklet that shows original photos of Seiran being assembled, photos of sub-assembles and actual factory drawings. There is a perfect vac clear canopy that is in mint condition and not even yellowed - there is also a perfect resin form to make more clear canopies if you wish. The kit has never been started. Most parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and the few that were not have been inventoried complete. With booklet, instructions and decals. The M6A1 Seiran was a late war submarine based float plane. The new I-400 class contained a large, water tight hanger and this aircraft was designed specifically for that space. The wings and tail folded to fit but the aircraft could be assembled in 7 minutes by a trained crew. To aid in night assembly, the critical parts were painted with florescent paint. The first planned attack was the Panama Canal, but this was cancelled in favor of Ulithi Atoll anchorage. The war ended before the attack could take place.

Dated 1945. Almost everyone has heard of the Comet flying aircraft kits that boys and men built from stick and tissue, but few know that Comet had a line of ships also. Very nicely done wooden model that measures 10 inches long when assembled. The hull had been very neatly factory machine cut to the correct height and overhead (beam) dimensions. Also includes three sheets of printwood, wooden smoke stack, wood mast and gun barrel material, sandpaper and full size plans. The plans are superior to most ship plans of the day with 5 hull sections, full size top and side drawings, illustrated instructions and several detail drawings. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. Please note that Comet does not identify the kit as the New York or her sister Texas but I have identified the class from the drawings. The kit represents them after the 1930s refit with a single funnel. The instructions have a closed tear on the right that is hard to see unless you know it is there.

From 1958. This is the only ship kit released by Adams during their short production run. This kit was also featured in the Nuclear Powered Gift set with two missiles. Kit is highly detailed for that time and features full hull, prop and rudder detail, complete deck fittings, detailed superstructure, clear promanade deck window inserts and a display stand. There is no assembly but NOTE: the hull is painted below the waterline and one stand arm is painted. You can strip this paint with DOT3 brake fluid, spray oven cleaner or any other tested and safe plastic paint stripper. Inventoried complete with all parts. Includes decals, flag sheet, clear printed window inserts and instructions. Adams was founded by Steve Adams and released plastic assembly kits in the late 1950s. The company was innovative and the general quality of most kits was very high for the time- so much that builders (not just collectors) still seek the kits today. Adams is best known today for a series of military vehicles and missiles, although they also released an aircraft (Draken), helicopter (YH-41), balloon (La Coquette) and ship (SS Savannah). Some of these appeared in gift sets as well. The Adams smaller scale (1/40) Atomic Cannon, Hawk Missile Battery, Honest John, Vanguard (1/80) and Thor (1/87)missiles and other kits are still sought after today. Combinations of these kits were issued in gift sets, which are very desirable collector's items today. In the late 1950s, Adams entered into a joint venture with Revell, and several of the military kits were released under the Revell label, such as the Jeep among others. Around 1960 there was a disagreement between Adams and Revell, and the agreement was terminated. Sometime after this, Adams quit the plastic model business, and Life-Like purchased most of the Adams molds.

Features detachable wing, precision die-cut balsa parts, stripwood and spars, 6" diameter plastic propeller, rubber, formed wire parts (landing gear and prop/motor shaft), finished wheels, die-cut clear windshield material with printed window frames and more. With excellent full size plans, detailed instructions, yellow tissue paper and color decals. The kit has never been assembled but NOTE: several parts are very neatly cut out. Missing (1) wing rib, #15 fin and one #15 brace. All three parts are very easily made since there are either duplicate parts to trace or they are represented full size on the plans. Very rare motorized kit from 1961. Box is solid and complete but has wear on the top as shown. First and only issue. The hardbox includes the Master Modelers logo. The kit is very nicely detailed and 20 inches long when assembled. It includes the electric motor and all hardware, brass contacts and gears required for motorization. Inside, the kit has not been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts, motorizing kit (still factory sealed), large decal and flag sheets and instructions as well as the SS Oriana Master Modeler Collectors Stamp. This kit was one in an entire series of motorized kits that Revell issued in 1960, 61 and 62. Mold modification were made to these kits for the series- USS Arizona, USS Coral Sea, Scissors Bridge, Sherman Tank, Sport Fisherman, PT-212, Austin Healey, Corvette, Long Beach Tugboat, Robert E Lee, Allison Turbo-Prop Engine and Ford Ranchero. This is not a complete list. The reason for the discontinuation of the kits is not known. Contributing factors may have included the high selling price or returns issues.
