Profile Series kit with decals for all three aircraft. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. Dates from the late 1960s/early 1970s. Initially, Airfix marketed in the USA through MPC. The kits were molded in England and shipped to the USA, where MPC added the box, decals and instructions. This continued for several issues and was finally discontinued although MPC continued with their own models.

Very rare first issue from late 1968, and ever rarer in this condition, which is never started and complete. Features full underside details including suspension, driveline, exhaust, shocks, steering linkage and more, two complete engines - stock small block V-8 or 428 CID, stock or mag wheels, full stock interior or custom interior with buckets, harness, roll bar and fire extinguisher, stock or raised rear end, opening hood with optional scoop, full stripe decals and more. Molded in white, chrome plate, clear, red tint clear and with rubber tires. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes 'excellent++' condition decals and instructions. NOTE: there is a tire burn on the rear differential and on the outer edges of one wheel.

Original promotional model from 1959. It is not perfect. The body is very straight except for the front fender, which have warped up at the headlight corners as shown. The box is flexible and they do bend down nicely under pressure. The paint is glossy, but shows general age discoloration and general age when you get up close. There is a touch up at the tip of the right rear fin. The tires are near mint and appear to have never been played with at all. Clear is 'excellent+' but could use a cleaning. Rear bumper is intact and the chrome is 'excellent' with little wear. The front bumper is also 'excellent.' The box is old but NOT original.

Williams Brothers Northrop Gamma Texaco 'Sky Chief' or 'Polar Star', 1/72, 72-214

The Gamma was designed by John Northrop and was considered very advanced in 1933. The airplane was an instant success. Texaco took delivery of the first one and set numerous cross-country speed records, in addition to being a crowd favorite at air shows. Dr. Lincoln Ellsworth used a Gamma in 1935 for a successful Trans-Antarctic Flight in the 'Polar Star'. This aircraft now rests in the Smithsonian. Gammas were also flown by Howard Hughes and Jacqueline Cochran. The model is very nicely molded and detailed and can build one of two versions of the Sky Chief (Phase I or III) or one of two versions of the Polar Star (Phase I or II)and includes all optional parts required to do so including two different engines, cowlings, nose sections, two and three blade propellers, canopies, one and two seat cockpits and tail wheels as required. Includes an extensive Micro-Scale color decal sheet for two versions each of the Polar Star and Sky Chief. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

Nicely prefabricated and made from plywood, high grade balsa and other wood. Most parts are cleanly die-cut to shape. Solid pieces, such as 5 inch turrets, hull sections, smoke stacks and many more are pre-cut to shape. Includes full-size plans, instructions, running hardware, additional R/C instructions, flag sheet and decals. The kit has never been started. Inside it is like new. The parts have not been punched and are in the original sheets. The parts that left the factory in sealed bags are still factory sealed. Never started. Complete with all parts, instructions and decals.

Large scale issue for rubber or gas free flight, or easily converted to RC using modern tiny and light servos and receivers. Kit features traditional wood/tissue construction with completely formed and finished leading and trailing wing edges, high-quality, die-cut balsa printwood, balsa stripwood and spars, clear (and in perfect condition) vacuform canopy and spinner, fully formed wooden wheels, rubbber motor, scale wood prop, insignia, covering tissue and excellent, large full size plans/instructions. Never started and complete. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.
