Great model from the famous Ideal Aeroplane & Supply Company, which was founded in 1911. This example is in very rare near-investment grade condition. The box is exceptional with four solid, original corners, near perfect labels and very little wear. The only flaws are very light general wear and the box top is slightly concave. This example is dated 1940 on the plans. I have seen this kit built, and it is beautiful and nicely detailed. Measures 22 inches when completed. Features a very nicely pre-carved hull, a good sized bag of metal, wood and other many small parts and fittings, wooden stock as required (still held together by the original rubber band), the original sandpaper, three large sheets of high quality printed wood that are still held together by the original rubber band, a color flag sheet and very nicely drawn plans in 'near mint' condition with numerous templates, details and perspectives. This kit is almost untouched inside, other than for inspection. Never started. The small parts are still factory sealed. The parts not sealed have been inventoried complete with the plans and color flag sheet.

The Leander class was built between 1963 and 1965. The large 370 foot long frigates are equipped with Seacat AA Missiles, Limbo ASW mortar, two 4.5" guns and a Westland Wasp helicopter. Rare kit from 1951. The Cleveland Quicky line was designed to get builders into the air quickly with a good flying aircraft. They include no cutting, no covering tissue and no painting- "Just Assemble And Fly!" Features all die-cut, quality balsa with fuselage sides, top and bottom, one piece wings and tail feathers, all parts factory painted in a colorful design, fully formed wire landing gear, finished wheels, rubber motor, plastic prop, hardware, thrust button and more. Never started. The small parts are still in the factory sealed envelope. From 1938. Very, very rare first issue with the big wingspan. A very deluxe kit with numerous extras- Scientific pulled out all the stops for this rubber powered 'Gas Type' model kit. In the late '30s almost every boy's dream was a gas powered aircraft model; however, the engines were prohibitively expensive and hard to operate; the kits for them were even more costly. This model 'contains everything' and that was no idle boast. Features dummy engine, quality printwood, stripwood and spars, balsa blocks and wood stock as required, metal hardware and stock, fully formed main and nose wheels, big machine carved prop, hardwood thrust button, color red covering tissue, two glass bottles with cork stoppers) bottle of liquids (cement and dope), rubber motor (which is amazingly intact) and full size plans with very detailed instructions. The kit has never been started. NOTE: the original air tires rotted off the hubs; I have replaced them with properly sized wooden wheels. NOTE: inventoried and missing the following: round wooden dowel for the engine cylinder, rubber lubricant, small round aluminum 'noise maker' pieces and small metal washers for the prop shaft. Otherwise inventoried with all other parts and plans included.
