Full hull kit includes prop and rudder detail, detailed island and guns, flight deck decals and an air wing of Cutlass F7U, FJ Furys, F11F Tigers and helicopters. Luckily for us, Pyro not only made these kits but did an excellent job for the time. The Pyro car models are based on the actual cars that Pyro engineers and designers had access to. In some cases, the specific car and owner is on the box. The model includes rubber tires, brass plated parts, colored injection molded parts and clear parts. This is one of Renewal's famous Aeroskin kits, and a rare large one in 1/48. Features markings for the aircraft of the famous Lanoe Hawker and very realistic artwork of the last moments of Lanoe's final battle with the Red Barron. The model has an injection molded inner structure of ribs and stringers like a real aircraft, then the modeler covers it with provided authentic pre-colored Aeroskin fabric. There is no painting needed as elaborate finishes are printed directly on the Aeroskin covering. This results a very realistic and colorful model. The kit has never been started. From about 1965 and issued from original Marusan molds. This is a nice, early model featuring moving control surfaces, rotating props and wheels, cockpit detail, crew, full landing gear and more. UPC stood for Universal Powermaster Corporation which was based out of New York City, NY. UPC did not cut their own molds, but bought kits already molded from other manufacturers and re-boxed the kits in the USA. Scott Eidson, the famous artist best known for his artwork with Revell, also did UPC box art in the 1960s. All UPC production ended in the 1970s.
